In terms of Long-Term Value; definitely SEO (if done correctly). I screen the URLs I use for keyword search traffic and competition, then outsource backlinking via oDesk. ROI averages in the 3000% percent range thus far and is constantly increasing since once optimized, your site stays that way with out *too* much effort.

SponsoredTweets.com has averaged about an 1100% ROI for me. Again, i'm very careful when setting up a campaign to make sure things are optimized, however. Look at the celebrity tweeter offerings and sort by CPC.

Google AdWords I average about a 200% ROI all things considered. Not bad, but since it takes a decent amount of effort to fulfill what I sell, not ideal since that eats into my margins.

Facebook Ads I average about a 120% ROI all things considered. Don't do this at all anymore.

Reddit and other Niche Forum promotion nets me an infinite ROI besides the opportunity cost of my time. I love this route since you can ask your customers for direct feedback, they'll give it to you, respect you more as a company, and buy from you. I've netted many long-term customers from this route, win-win-win-win.

PPc is still the best. Beside Adwords, there are quite a few good networks available at real cheap rate. you can PM me if you need helps on this.

I'd definitely say PPC, Adwords can be a bit expensive if you don't know how to.But you have to diversify if you don't want loosing too much of your money into paid ads or traffic exchanges that promises only the blue sky. :p

I'd be interested in some alternatives to BuySellAds as well. I have come across publicityclerks.com but they're still building inventory it seems.

If you want to go for publically available sources, then Bing Ads is a good altrenative - quality traffic & ways cheaper than Adwords.

But ideally Iwould go for direct advertising with popular high-traffic resources in your niche. Search google for your major keywords and contact the blog/site owners that offer adversting. DO a sample ad first and than scale up once you located the most cost effective providers.
