Check the site on which you bought the product from and see what come back you have, if any.

Is the seller based in the us? If so, you might have an administrative remedy.

Yes. In principle. (Though some countries do have some overriding statutory legislation about that, I think?)

Not necessarily. You may be able to "persuade" them to give you a refund? Or, if you really feel that the course was misdescribed in the sales material, and was unable to fulfil the promises made for it (i.e. "not fit for its purported use") you might be within your rights to do a chargeback on the credit-card with which you paid for it, or open a PayPal dispute if you paid that way, or whatever? If you're within the time periods laid down for those by PayPal and/or credit-card companies?

I think it may be relevant whether the videos were supplied on CD as well, or just as a digital download.

You're kind of "asking for legal advice" here, and the Warrior Forum isn't a good place to ask for or to take legal advice, really. But good luck!

Have you tried flying since purchasing the product? Or have you just sat there and assumed it didn't work?

If you'd purchased the course on DVD from a local shop, would you ask for a refund?

Asking for a refund after 6 hours is pretty lame if you haven't even tried anything from the course (I am assuming).

You've already used the product, so I can see why the seller wouldn't want to give you a refund.

If he was guaranteeing you would get over your fear of flying or offering a refund but refusing to honour it, that would be a little different.

So by your definition, the refund is there not to protect the buyer in case the product doesn't work, but for those who change their minds after purchasing, and before using it? Interesting...

No. I just think that as the buyer has already got the product, he shouldn't be asking for a refund after 6 hours. He obviously hasn't even tried the product BUT has consumed all the content.

If the product doesn't work, that's a different matter. Or if it guaranteed you would get over your fear of flying in <6 hours that would also be different.

How can you be so certain he didn't use the product, since he didn't mention any details? Maybe it's one of those "watch this video and you'll fix your problem" kind of product.

I am assuming. I would have thought it is impossible to get over a fear of something like flying unless you have actually tried to fly since trying the product?

Maybe I am wrong, but in my experience, people who ask for a refund after 6 hours are either suffering from buyer's remorse or are serial refunders.

I would have thought the same, too. (In fact, I'm a strong believer that in order to diminish a fear, you have to actually confront it, not watch a video, even if it's with flying scenes.)

But the thing is, you never know what the sales page nowadays say in order to convince someone to buy.

Man, can you imagine all the quit smoking products, patches, sprays, gums, etc that would be liable for return.

What was the refund policy stated when you purchased?

If you went to a psychologist or even a hypnotist to get rid of your fear of flying and it didn't work, would you go and ask them for your money back?

    There's your answer.

well , you should have tough of that before buying the product, you had to check the site and see if they offer a refund or not

I agree with WillR. Could it be that after watching the videos after 6 hours, that you were going to be cured? Being cured means to conquer the FEAR of flying. It sounds like you are taking the easy way out instead of tackling your fears..

Did you buy this from Paypal? If you're under the 45 days then you can go about submitting a complaint through PP - good luck.

$200.00 seems like alot of money for a 6 hour video. In this situation it comes down to what their return policy. It is hard to get returns on Videos, DVD, CDs etc. You can't even get a return from Walmart for a $5 DVD unless it was unopen.

  • If there is no refund promise in the sales page, then you should not ask for a refund. You should know the conditions before buying.

Without seeing the sales page, it's tough for any of us to see the type of promises that were made. There's a difference between how many physical products are sold versus digital ones.

You don't see nicotine patches being advertised the same as quit smoking Clickbank products are being sold using every type of over the top claim and hype they can possibly squeeze on the page.

I would check with the payment processor you went through and read THEIR refund policy or TOS. Recently I purchased a $600 web script and would have been screwed if it weren't for (in my cause Plimus's) refund policy.
