RescueTime of Time Doctor

I will be hiring a VA soon and wanted to know everyones thoughts on what software would be best to track and manage my VA? I have used RescueTime before and I personally use Time Doctor to manage ME. But I have never used Time Doctor to see and manage others.

My goal with the software is to make sure that they are using every minute of work time actually working and not just doing stuff like surfing on Facebook.

Thoughts?

Also, can either of the two work for those without their own computer? Like for people working from an internet cafe that can't install anything?

  • Neither of them can run without their program running on the computer. They do not have an online only tracker yet?

Sorry to dig this up. I’ve used both software too, they’re not intrusive and it can track your work time efficiently. It would also prompt a message if you’re browing non-work related websites (like Facebook, Twiiter, etc) to refrain from doing it. I’ve seen a lot of useful features in Time Doctor especially if you are closely monitoring someone who is working from home.

You can actually install and use the software from an internet café but I think there’s more hassle if you keep on installing the program in all computers if the original computer where it got installed first is occupied.

    Hi,

To be honest I know what my employees should be able to get done in a day and I assign work based on that.

I dont care if they go on facebook during the day or whatever, as long as the days work I have scheduled is completed at the end of the day, I dont care.

  • There's actually a software for that and it's also powered by RescueTime. It's called tracklabor.com. It was created to manage VAs and monitor their time.
