How much would you pay for...

How much would you pay for a few words of text that could literally save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars in outsourcing costs?

The reason I ask, is because I recently got back into outsourcing a new job on Elance.com for the first time in a year or so. I used a sneaky little outsourcing "trick" that literally saved me more than $200 in costs with absolutely no sacrifice to quality of the work. I have used this same method in the past with similar success.

I have been thinking about selling this trick as a downloadable guide in PDF format. However, even though it is insanely valuable, I could probably explain it in as little as 1-2 pages of text on a PDF page.

Do you think people would buy something that came in a very short PDF download for a decent sum of money? The 'trick' is definitely worth it if you regularly outsource content via Elance.com or similar websites.

To be perfectly honest, I would feel comfortable selling this trick alone for something like $97, because it is worth it (like I said, it just saved me $200 yesterday, and I can use it again in the future). But do you think a customer would be 'offended' if I tried to charge that much for such a small but powerful amount of content?

You might want to call it a hot sheet. Usually they sell in DP. Not sure recently if that is an option for that forum. I don't know if they selling hot sheets in war room or not. Haven't seen a WSO in years with one, so, I dunno.

If it's just a simple "trick" that can be explained in a few lines, it's likely to be common knowledge once you've sold one or two copies of your pdf.

Better to either keep it to yourself and benefit from the saving in your future outsourcing - or incorporate the trick as part of a wider, all-encompassing outsourcing product.

  • Products like that you'll only have success selling on a place like warriorforum if you target successful IM'ers, and or people who know the value of things like this for their business. You get some of those rabid buyers who just want to make money fast buying your products and you'll have so many refunds lol

I agree with this. A trick or technique such as the one you are describing is more likely to benefit the more experienced marketers who have experience outsourcing jobs to sites like elance and odesk.

if you are talking about an article, a 500 word article i think most likely costs $20.

Sort of. It doesn't blatantly screw the person working for you out of money. But it is a way to get them to work for less money.

They are still free to refuse to work for you, but I've never had someone decline after using my little trick.

Interesting. I'll check into this sort of thing. Thanks.

This is something I've thought about. I might end up giving this trick away as a golden egg 'freebie' in the future, to use it to lure people into my sales funnel. I don't currently have any big products to sell, but I've been thinking about making something.

Yes, this is exactly the case. The niche for this technique would be super-focused. The people who benefit most from this technique would essentially be "people who regularly outsource new projects on Elance.com".

If you regularly spend $100's or $1000's on Elance.com projects (or possibly similar outsourcing sites), I estimate that this single technique can save you between 10-20% on every project you'll ever outsource ever again. And the beautiful thing about it is that it works even better on high-price projects. Just recently I used it to save $200 off of a $1200 project, bringing the price down to $1000 by spending less than a minute of my time.

I am talking about selling a single, easy-to-explain, very valuable technique that anyone can use, that can instantly decrease the cost of any outsourcing project on Elance.com by 10 to 20%.

Exactly. The only people who benefit from it would be people who regularly spend tons of money on outsourcing.

Then you have your answer Make it absolutely apparent on a sales page, or seek out these professionals on the forum. If you spend some time reading you start to see who they are.

Also look through the forum history using search to check-out threads about outsourcing and see who's usually the one providing tips or advice. They are your target.
