Internet Marketing Without U.S. Based Tools like Google, Click Bank, Etc.

If I was based in Europe or Asia and I wanted to do Internet Affiliate Marketing or other kinds of Internet Marketing to either Europe or Asia exclusively and not rely on any U.S. based companies for tools or product or service platforms etc., please tell me about alternatives to succeed.

If Google or Click Bank or Amazon etc. etc. has offices overseas that could keep their tools or platforms running and that have the potential to operate apart from the U.S. based headquarters then point that out please. But I would rather find competing companies to the U.S. based ones that could do the same job.

This is extremely important and this thread is not meant to shoot the breeze. This is serious stuff and I need some answers.

Thanks,

World Ambassador

    Why?

If it's a 'legal thing', then you should know that, with few exceptions (gambling, for example), stuff that is illegal in the US is usually also illegal in the European Union and vice-versa. (I know there are many differences, but I mean in general).

The same situation exists in many Asian countries too - stuff that will land you in court (or worse) in the United States and Europe is equally likely to land you in court (or worse) in Japan, Taiwan, China, etc. too.

That said, the authorities in Europe (don't know about Asia) tend not to pursue minor things with the same zeal they do in the US - maybe that's the reason... or maybe there's something else? Most European Courts are also usually highly resistant to extraditing anyone to the US for anything other than the worst kind of extreme criminal behaviour (you're not planning on killing anyone, are you? ).

Most of the large US Internet-related companies have a significant presence in Europe. The two 'biggies' - Google and Facebook - have their European headquarters in Dublin in Ireland, where they must operate in accordance with Irish and, by extension, European laws and regulations. That means, if something is legal in the US, but not legal in Ireland and/or the EU, they must adhere to what Ireland and/or the EU says, regardless of what their US-based colleagues can (or can't) do. That's why you'll see stuff like this.

    Hope that helps...

    Regards,
    Tommy.

Your answer above put a spin on what I was seeking information about that even Alexa Smith was fooled by it and gave you a "THANK YOU" when your answers mostly did not even answer my question except for the second part of your answer which was somewhat helpful. Thanks for that answer.

But enough of a negative spin was placed upon my question that took it way out of the ball park of what I had in mind. The second poster read my question correctly and put no negative spin on it but just tried to give me a straight answer to the question I asked. Thank you.

NO, I HAD NOTHING ILLEGAL LURKING IN THE CORNERS OF MY MIND.

I often learn a little "something interesting I didn't know" from Tommy's posts. As on this occasion.

do you speak any languages other than english? I'd do some searching in a foreign language for merchant account providers and go with one of those.

also, ask around others in the market you're targeting, see what sort of merchant accounts they use (make sure there isn't funny business like account funds getting put on hold etc...)
