Beware of cheap imitations!

Cheap imitations of my product have appeared on the web. In fact some of their titles, images and copy were such rip-offs that I forced them to make changes. But that's all I can do legally.

Their web presence is still tiny compared to mine but it will grow if they stick with it and promote it well. I would hope that the market will reward a rubbish product like that with failure but, sadly, not every bad product fails.

The problem is that I'm afraid that the smell from this rubbish could spread to my product as well in the public mind. Disappointed customers could understandably tell people not to buy junk like that when they actually want to buy mine.

Would it be good marketing to put a statement like this on my website:

"Beware of cheap imitations. Look alikes have appeared on the market that undercut "my product" by avoiding proper research and development. We are the original "my product name" with four years of continuous development along with thousands of happy customers."

Or could this come off as sour grapes? Should I just let the market do its thing?
