WOW. Thank you! I get that my results probably aren't going to be that dramatic, but wow.... If I made even a quarter of that off one ebook I'd be happy.

That is a nice story if it is true. Do you believe that it is true? Why or why not?

When I searched for that, all I could find is this.

Amazon is an excellent way to make money. Within 3 months I was bringing in $1400/mo and its been increasing ever since (been two years ago now). However, kindle today is very different from how it used to be. Now everyone is posting junk. The market has become saturated and it is harder to get sales. It takes more work than just posting a book. The top sellers and those who make a good amount of money also invest a lot of money. In order to beat everyone out, you have to be the best.

So be prepared to to invest time as well as money. It is worth it though.

Thanks so much. Yeah, my goal is to post high quality stories. No junk if I can help it.

I have two ebooks on Amazon. They're cook books that I work a whole series around. In the beginning I was making about $100 a week on each book. Sales have slowed down to about $50.00 a month on each.

I'm close to publishing my third, which will have links to the first two. Amazon KDF program allows you to offer books for free for 5 days. I'm hoping when the new book hits, those that get free copies will buy the older books.

In the books I also link to a blog I do on Italian cooking and living. I sell affiliate products at the site and sales always seem to pick up when I put a new book out.

Lots of things you can do through Amazon Kindle and it's free.

Varies from about $600 up to about $1800 (the Xmas rush). I keep putting out more books, so it slowly goes up over time. Then put those books in CreateSpace and Audible (the trifecta!) and triple your profits. I've done it. So can you.

I average about $1000 a month in US Kindle earnings. Spits and spurts from other countries and steady small amounts from Barnes & Noble. It took awhile to get momentum but I've only worked on it here and there and I don't do heavy promotions.

I just put my first book up this morning:

    Amazon.com: 150 amazing soccer facts

It was basically a practice book to begin with but it got 'blocked' so I had to go back and start from scratch. Not sure the best ways to promote it, any ideas?

I co-wrote a collection/bundle with a good friend of mine, and right now it sells around 1,900 copies per month at 99 cents. I'm thinking of bringing the price up to $2.99 and hopefully earn $3,800 from it. Hell, i'd be happy with $3,000.

Start publishing and keep on going. Everyone starts at $0, but your research and determination will eventually turn that into $10, then $100, then $1,000.

When you write an ebook, please don't just write a 7-page list of bullet points or whatever. I downloaded a book with a beautiful cover about herbs for health and was most disappointed.
A friend wrote a series of books dealing with various aspects of writing fiction. By the time the third one was up - a few weeks - she was paying her rent with the income. She is now going into the the YA paranormal genre which is very lucrative or so I'm told.
social networking is what works for marketing ebooks.

Thanks so much. Yeah, I don't plan on doing a bullet point book. I'm writing a short story. I plan on putting a lot of time and effort into it to hopefully make it a good read.

Great genre! I have two fiction books up on Kindle and they are doing very well. Don't ask me to disclose the numbers because I won't.

The key seems to be in the reviews. Amazon will send you more and more traffic if reviews come in regularly.

Jump on this one because even though a lot of people are jumping on-board, if you get a foothold you are golden...

Okay, okay, I'll give you one more piece of valuable advice. You don't have to write a novel. Write a short story, also known as a "Kindle Single" on Kindle (mine are only 30 to 40 pages long). Even at $2.99 people still buy them up!!!

Write a series of related books and link them together. Write something people want to read. Promote often but keep in mind that writing more books that people want to read is what will bring in the sales.

Just make sure you've got a nice ebook cover, a good description and overdeliver with content in relation to the price. That's if you are writing non-fiction of course.

Fiction, however is a whole different ball game.

My friend is have recently publish a romance fantasy story which gets good review value from the good reads member. The business is doing really well, she said that most of her book reader comes from harry potter fans. She told me that her sales figures is around $300 a months, well her hard work paid off I guess. The promotion is kinda stuck for several weeks, and then my other friend recommend this unusual software for amazon and tumblr to utilize the promotion. And it works! So I guess someday I will to put that software in WSO, I don't know
