Wondering if anyone has had traffic spurts with just posting daily

Yes posting consistently on your blog is a great way to capture lots of long tail traffic which will ironically make it easier to rank the much more difficult keywords.

It will eventually, but using social bookmarks help to get the posts indexed faster.

Oh yes, consistency is much better than SEO per se! I never worry about SEO or what's best to catch Google's and other search engine attention. All I know for sure is that search engines do like to see blogs and websites growing organically! Posting quality content daily is definitely a great way to grow and rank + get more subscribers! Followers like to know they are going to have something to read to, so it's a win-win strategy!

When I was into blogging this way, the lazy way for sure, I did manage to get some random traffic, but nothing to write home about at all.

Best bet is to start blogging regularly, but then getting the word out about your blog.

You can do SEO but most I've found who have success with blogging traffic make connections with other bloggers and similar sites in your niche and get traffic from guest posts, backlinks from relevant sites for direct traffic rather than SEO, actively promoting your site on social media, etc.

It will definitely make the spider curious to index you, having fresh posts every now and then will help for sure.

Hi I have no problem getting my post indexed within a few days I gues what I am saying is if I actively post for a week then drip feed two or three articles to my site a day at the end of the month I should have around 75 articles how much daily traffic do you think I should expect?

I would suggest if you are using WordPress that you add a plugin called Shareaholic.

Shareaholic adds a (X)HTML compliant list of social bookmarking icons to each of your posts.

Yeah it will, but do other things such as blog directory submissions, blog RSS feed submissions, social bookmarking, and getting links from other credible websites in your niche.

Once you've posted your article spend a couple of hours every day promoting it to your target audience. Get a link to the new blog in your signature in all forums in your niche and spend some time posting, seek people out on social media based on your keywords and let them know about it, use Google Alerts to find new blog posts based on your keywords and comment on them with a link back etc.

You can simplify this by using a great tool called Buzz Bundle which seeks out content and people based on your content / keywords, auto signs up to the sites then allows you to interact with them straight from the software. It's a cool tool and makes it really easy to get your links / content in front of people who are interested in it.

posting can generate traffic, but it has to be backlinked. i sure know people nowadays are lazy and most often they try to read only the 1st 3 paragraphs of your blog.

Yes as a long term strategy, but always do the syndication, legit backlinking, commenting, bookmarking etc.

Backlinking is important for your rankings, but as people come to your site to see what you have posted, if it is quality content, they will social bookmark it themselves, which is also an important factor in site rankings today.

Make sure that the content is quality, quality over quantity, and people will start to visit you...

Hi, Posting daily with some good contents is a wonderful thing for any blog. It keeps the blog running and attracts new visitors as they find your blog useful they will come to it on daily basis. It totally depends on the content you post there.

I have done no link building or social networking since day 1 off running my site. Simply added content each day (give and take a few days off). Traffic equals 2000 targeted visitors a day after 1 year. Have done no paid advertising either.

I seriously could not be bothered seeking links, the way I see it is if someone likes something let them share for me, as I notice things like some of pages have 17+ google etc, so yeah it works.

Blog posting regularly is definitely a good strategy...just make sure it's quality over quantity though.

Consistently publishing content works for sure. I've done it several times across numerous websites since 2004. The problem is, most people become impatient and either give up after a few months, or they start trying to artificially inflate their search positioning.

I would be lying if I said I didn't become an SEO zombie back in 2011, and guess what? I lost everything.

In my experiences over the past 9 years, this is typically what happens....

Building fake backlinks

You begin trying to manipulate the search engines by building out fake backlinks. This works short term, then you get penalised or lose your rankings due to a Google update and end up worse off than if you had of just been doing the right thing to begin with.

Create kickass content

You forget about Google, focus on your own site, and just keep your visitors happy with great content. The initial start here is always slow, but the rewards for waiting are worth it. Be ready to put in 6 or so months before you start seeing any decent traffic, but it works, and it works LONG TERM.

So, you have....

1. Get traffic now by manipulating the search engines, and potentially lose it all later and be nowhere in 12 months

OR

2. Be patient, create good content, and have little to no traffic for 6 months, then have an authority that rakes in the traffic for years to come

I know which one I prefer.

Infact, I have an 9 week old site that is now averaging over 60 visits a day (with some days over 100). Not much I know, but its all free traffic, and I'm sure that by years end I should be at 500+

All Im doing is publishing content daily, or at least every 2nd day.
