CURIOUS: Has anyone made any money, such as referrals or affiliate sales on Tumblr?

I wonder if making money on Tumblr is so real. Seems so. I hope so as I was introduced to Tumblr by a fellow WFer. I didn't buy it, but gathered by searching Tumblr on my own and found one way was to embed links into photos to make them click to other sites if someone clicks them. That is ONLY one way, I gathered There are other ideas coming up from the woodwork as I look around.

Does it work?

Anyone?

Yes, plenty. In fact the methods are so successful that I'm launching a Tumblr mentoring programme soon.

I haven't personally made money with Tumblr, but I did with Squidoo (in terms of SEO Squidoo ranks really asily). I guess Tumblr should work well too! smodha - looking forward to your mentoring programme!

Tumblr is really great for traffic, I haven't quite tried promoting any products directly through it. I'll tell you this much, tumblr helped my latest site go viral a day after it was launched. I hit a new popular trending niche, started a website for it, connected tumblr to my wordpress site using an autocross post plugin to do all the work for me on tumblr. In that plugin I targeted all the trending or popular channels and set them to be targeted in every post.

Maybe this will give you some idea's and help you think outside the box a bit, tumblr is great for targeted traffic, I now make a couple hundred a week from tumblr traffic alone. Pretty much the same concept as some of the twitter methods.

Thanks Tim, I'll keep you posted.

Tumblr is just as easy to optimize as Squidoo however Tumblr has the slight advantage of being PR 8 and it's untapped.

Tumblr is a pretty cool platform. Some of the content is pretty stunning. I find it more engaging than Facebook, Twitter or Pinterest and that makes it an interesting proposition for IM.

I've got guys earning $50-$180/day with Tumblr and that's with only a handful of campaigns. I also know someone who started his t-shirt business through Tumblr. He's now very successful.
