How many sales a month

Hello all,

I've browsed the forums for about a week and joined last night. I recently bought an e-book on how to write your own e-book. I have tried the search feature to try and answer the following question but didn't find the results I was looking for.

How many sales do you average a month from simple website searches through yahoo, google, etc and writing articles? I know having affiliates is awesome.

I hope this topic isn't taboo. I'm just really curious to see how much basic keyword searches can produce.

    It all depends on the keyword(s) you rank for. There is obviously no set parameter for this and it changes depending on the niche.

    Now, you could expect anything between 50%-90% of the searches the keyword has per month if you rank #1 for it.

    Simply go to the Google Keyword Tool and see how much monthly searches a keyword you are ranking for has, and then check your traffic stats to see what % of the searches you are getting.

    That's only in terms of traffic, in terms of sales there are many more variables.

    Is the keyword you are ranking for targetted and related to the product/services you are selling and/or promoting?

    What is the price range? What is the product? How good is the copy?

    And I could probably think of a few hundred variables more, but I have work to do.

    Average conversion across most niches under average conditions is of about 1%.

    Which means 1% of your direct traffic will turn into sales.
