I just started a new offline business that has "0" internet credibility. And actually there is also a company out there with the name let's say my companies name is "Service Master" there is also another company out there that is prominent with the name "Master Service".

How can I quickly, and cost efficiently build up some internet and search engine credibility to show that we are well established and is credible etc. I do own the domain and I do have a website, and did some SEO but that's basically it.

Your credibility is based on a number of factors: the professional layout of the site, how easily and quickly you respond to questions, do you have a phone number that people can reach you at, are the graphics professionally done, if you sell SEO do you rank on the 1st page for appropriate keywords in your niche, etc.

The average consumer will not look up the age of the domain and how long you've been in business. If you've been applying these same services for yourself and friends for a number of years as an Internet Marketer then you can say that you have x number of years experience. If you haven't, then don't mention years of experience at all.

It's amazing how people judge credibility of a company on the site! Include your picture, face shot that looks into the camera and gives you a look of authenticity and transparency.

Are you relying on the website to drive customers to you or are you marketing aside from the site? Your site should show people WHAT you are capable of producing for them. If you have anyone you've worked with include testimonials and links to their site. If you don't then pick up someone free - offer to do something for them in exchange for a testimonial for your site.

You could choose an approach where you receive credibility through affiliation... (is that even the right word..?! LOL...not native english...anyways) For example...one way to do this in IM when you are selling a product is by doing an interview with a well respected ''guru''... And adding that to your sales page. And there is something to be said about social proof... You could add reviews of your product or service through a facebook fan page or something in that sense. Now what you have to do is twist it around and make it appropriate for whatever you are offering.

And, speaking of proof - you can also add third party proof - so information from third party research that shows the roi on building web properties for brick and mortar businesses.

Well, if it you have that kind of competitor, you should build a different image branding. Building an image is definitely a lot of work if you do it by yourself, that is why you should outsource. First thing of order, consult with web developer expert, knows what you need for building an image on internet, or preferably a web designer expert. Second thing of order, outsource graphic designer, tell them that you want to create a better site than your competitor site. Third thing of order, evaluate the result, just ask someone stranger and ask them about your new site. This way you can gather a general opinions about your site.
