Can anyone explain YouTube license to me in simple terms?

So I was thinking about building a site and wanted a video or two for it and YouTube has exactly what I want. So my question is, can i just use these videos as i want? I have seen folks saying about building sites that just pull videos from YouTube. I just want to use one or two. But I want to know if I am free to use these, or if that would be unlawful in the US of A, where I reside?

Just because people do it, doesn't mean it is legal. In this instance, I would prefer to be completely legal and not a thief.

Looking for opinions on this. I know this is a legal question, but I am not looking for a legal opinion, just your layman's opinion as a webmaster.

Do you want to embed them or actually take the video? Embedding is fine, they support that and have the tools to do so, taking them and downloading them would be illegal. You would need the video posters permission to do that.

Thank you, that is what I wanted to do. Embedding them is the most simple way to go, so that works out great. Thanks for explaining that. The license document was just way too confusing to read.

yea embedding is pretty much the same as linking to the video, no copyrights involved
