I'm looking to grow my Facebook page from scratch. I don't want to invite everyone I know.

What are some tips to get likes and people sharing my stuff?

Thats a great question. Its certainly true that growing new facebook pages is one of the main problems I've seen as an internet marketing expert. With that being said here are my top 3 tips for eliminating-fanpage traffic problems in your buisiness in no time flat.

    Tip#1 Connect with other pages
Facebook is all about engagement and without connecting with other brands, you are losing out on potential customers. There will be a lot of Facebook pages out there that will compliment yours, with the same target market that you should be reaching out to. You should also keep an eye on your competitors to make sure you are doing the best you can with the resources you have.

Sometimes this isn't enough to grow your new page. Sometimes you need to make use of....

    Tip#2 Be Original
When posting on your Facebook page you should be sharing content that is original. By this I mean information that you haven’t already shared and content which will be useful to your audience. It is also worth noting that the main reason users unlike a Facebook page is because they overpopulate their news feeds. To avoid this, only post once a day on your Facebook page. Remember, content is still king and it doesn’t just have to be words.

And if all above still doesn't eliminate your problem I highly reccommend you also partake in...

Tip#3 Photos, Videos & Blog Feeds
For your Facebook Page to grow, you will need to populate it with images and videos. Your fans will feel more connected to you if you give them something to comment on. Sharing your latest collection via a video or even photo’s is a great way to get their feedback and apply it to your business. You can also import blog posts from your blog right to your Facebook page as they as published. You can also add an RSS feed from someone else’s blog. Use RSS Graffiti to do this.

You have to first get an initial base of a few thousand fans before you have anyone there at all to see and share your posts. Your posts and page can't go viral without anyone to start the sharing off.

So when starting from scratch, your best bet is to invest in FB Ads directing very targeted users to like your fan page. You can target the fans that are connected to similair competitor fan pages and basically steal your competitors fans. If you use a free $50 ad voucher, you could get thousands of fans just from that alone.

It's also important to fill out your page with a lot of quality content before setting up the ads so they have a reason to like the page. Photos and videos are best.

You could also bribe people by offering contests for sharing content etc.

You could even contact similair pages with a lot of fans and make a deal with them to recommend your page to their fans.

There are too many ways of growing a fan page to list them here.
