I agree with what he has mention. It is always better do so some market research first so that we will know in advance the kind of information that people are willing to pay money for.

I personally like to choose evergreen market where people will face problem as long as they are around. Examples like these 3 general markets:

1) Dating and Relationship
2) Health and Fitness
3) Making Money

It is true that the markets are very competitive but I believe that there is still large profit share for people to get their own share.

If you know how to sell it successfully, you can advise your affiliates accordingly (by having a suitable affiliate page which incentivizes them to opt in, and so on).

If your affiliates are all people who started promoting it without first satisfying themselves that the vendor was already selling it successfully and has a sales page already proven to convert targeted traffic, then they're not affiliates who'll bring in sales. Probably. 5% of affiliates bring in about 95% of the affiliate-referred sales. I suspect you have a selection from the other 95% who don't sell much?

If you can't sell it successfully yourself, don't use up your time seeking affiliates, because however many you successfully recruit, if the product doesn't sell to their traffic, then you can't retain them in a meaningful way which produces any income for yourself, anyway. I'm not trying to criticize you, but this is simply "the way it is".

Don't imagine that "affiliate gimmicks" (banners/articles/whatever) are in themselves going to attract serious, pro-affiliates who can actually sell it. The affiliates you most want/need to recruit typically have no interest in those at all and probably won't use them anyway. They care about the quality of the product and the converting-power of the sales page.

Proven conversions come first, affiliates come later.

Going heavier with the promoting side of things will not fix a product that isn't selling. He has already told us affiliates are actively promoting his product and making no sales.

This does not tell me he needs to ramp up the promotion efforts. This tells me he needs to step back and look at the product and/or sales page -- probably both.

If people don't want something it doesn't matter how hard you flog it, it will never sell.

This is really important. There needs to be some sort of JV tools page that includes banners that your affiliates can use, as well as email swipes etc. A real must. You want to help your affiliates to promote your product as much as you can.

If you were to use a different platform, like JVZoo, you would have direct access to your affiliates and could hold a webinar, for example. Just some way to get in touch with and/or help your affiliates out.

I agree with this post and everything willr has written. Everyone rushes to clickbank before they even know if there is a market for their product. Years ago I tried it didn't get one single affiliate tweaked the sales copy and made sales.

I will tell you this : you have not positioned your product correctly if there is indeed a market for it and clearly your copy stinks.

I hope we are using different copywriters.
