Looking for Flippa Tips

Hey guys, I have sold several websites on Flippa. I have one on there now and would like to get the most attention and bids. What strategies have you used that worked, i.e....

Do you use the bold, highlight or other services from Flippa?
Do you use some other method to get attention or drive up auction bids?

    The upgrade I really wouldn't bother with on Flippa is the Twitter upgrade. Keep in mind the estimated final sales price of your site and try to keep all the extras in mind and relative to that.

    Setup a HTML website or Wordpress blog with adsense ads, send 10,000 visitors through ad.fly

    This usually churns me at least $15-$30, even though this traffic is created through ad.fly buyer may see potential in your website.

      #1. it's against adsense's TOS as you may use paid traffic but YOU are responsible for the quality of the traffic. And adfly traffic will get you spanked.

      #2. You just told her to deceive her potential client.

      Sandrasims, you should not do either 1 or 2 above. The key to success on flipa is reputation. Always give more value than you charge for.

      Build the rep of being the go to gal. Get long term clients and build a list. Once you do you won't ever have to set foot on flipa because whatever you build will be snatched up by your list.
      Build a relationship with your site buyers list that they trust you and you always do the right thing by them.

      These are the keys to success on flipa the WF or anywhere really.

    Hi Sandra,

    Congratulations for your previous sales I am also flipping websites on Flippa and have been doing pretty well so far (generated more than $20K selling around 10 brand new sites in only couple of months). I sold another brand new site yesterday at $3K.

    Here are some of my personal tips (based on my own experience):

    1) Have a nice design (a good design is always attracting bidders);

    2) If you can generate couple of sales, it will add a lot of value to your site;

    3) Write a nice listing description. You need to be honest, transparent (I usually give my skype / email address) and show to potential buyers why your site would be great for them. They need to picture themselves making money with it.

    5) At the end of your listing, you can add that you are also available for custom projects (and give your Skype / email address). This is helping me to generate a lot more sales.

    4) Start your listing at $1. This will help you to get more activity on it and, why not, get your auction displayed in the "Most Active" section. Reserve price can be whatever you want

    5) Make sure that your listing will end on Sunday evening (more buyers during the weekend)

    7) During the last day, I usually purchase the $50 upgrade to display my site on the Homepage (I wasn't doing it in my first 3 auctions but it definitely helps a lot to get more bidders).

    As Deezign said, you can set your start with $1, so more potential bidders will show their interest and your listing will come in front of most active page and you can get more and more bids.

    Thanks for the ideas -- I agree with Patrick that it is best to be honest and not try to artificially inflate the traffic. Flippa now gets the Adsense and Analytics reports automatically, so if one were to try to increase the traffic before selling, it would need to be done 3 months before the sale.

    Starting at $1 is a great idea - I started my last auction at $20 and now have one bid (reserve is much higher). I will also consider the $50 homepage toward the end of the auction. It makes a lot more sense to bump it to the homepage at the end after there's already been a lot of bids.
