Can someone explain these bizarre spam email addresses?

I've just recently started getting spam emails from really bizarre email addresses, like this one (which I just received a few minutes ago):

met3240jfdslk@0x40.00000352.125.0241

How are these possible, as there doesn't even appear to be a viable domain anywhere in the email address? Is this some new form of spamming? I've just started noticing these very recently (the past week or so). Also, when I view the header, the return path is the same as the bizarre email address, which has me even more baffled.

Although this particular one is about a "MetLife" policy, 99% of the subject lines are regarding hot pics, seduction, and lonely girls. Almost all the IP addresses (of the few I've checked, out of curiosity) stem from Chicago, for whatever that's worth.

Anyway, I'm curious - and a bit frustrated, as I've suddenly started getting dozens of these a day.

    It's an ip address.

    Maybe it's a disposable email.

I was expecting this thread to relate to the bizzare religious symbolic image spam emails.

I think they are hinting onto synchronization and a new world order.

I've just cleared out my spam folder so can't refence the email / domain, but others might relate to it.

I have found these coming in when I get new solos. I have talked with a few people about it and we believe that there is a software on the black hat market that sends an email to you every time you send an email to them.
I think the newbies are being taken for a ride in that niche. Not a whole lot of research goes into making that list, and nobody wants their offers. My guess is that it cost a lot for them to buy this super amazing script that does nothing for them.

Thanks for the responses. I'm not doing anything with solo ads. As for it being a "disposable email", perhaps, but wouldn't there be a real "return path" of some sort? Just seems really odd to me.

No. Why should there be? It's spam. They don't care if the email they are sending to is valid.
