"Best" is tough to say without more qualifiers. For me, "best value" based on the cost for using still photos as content for videos is Proshow Gold. ($75) They offer a free trial too.

Here's a video I made using Proshow Producer (you can do it in Gold) to create what's known as "kinetic text". Basically, it's just creating blank slides then using Proshow's powerful caption features.

While I have the Producer version, I'd suggest if you do buy to just get the Gold version and save the money.

If you have a mac iMovie is a super user-friendly tool that'll get most of what you need done, quick and dirty.

My experience with Ezvid is it didn't work and unfortunately was a waste of time.

Spent a day or two learning the system and editing a 4 min video, went to up load it and it hung at at about 30% progress - same on second attempt. Was using the latest software version. The software is pretty smart and easy to use but with quite a few limitations such as not being able to edit audio.

Installing the software and even upgrading to the latest version comes with a bunch of unwanted junk programs not associated in any way to ezvid. The ezvid site is like maneuvering through a mine site skipping over all the adword links that take you to third party sites as an obvious revenue generator.

The business strategy seems more to attract freebie users to make revenue from third party products. Pity because it is potentially a great product.

My alternative was to invest in Camtasia, which is worth it by a country mile.
