I dont want to waste my time

I am confused what to do. I am a student about to finish my studies. I dont have any experience to get a job. I am thinking to join a coaching program so that it helps me to learn something. I am free most of the time. I can give more and more time. But i need a helping hand to guide me through the right direction. I have money to invest, but i want to utilise it the most. I dont think ebooks will help me. I need a task step by step and want to compelte it accordingly. I am very much frustated because of wasting my time. I need instructions to follow. Should i go for a coach? Or should i hang around warrior forum and read.
Everybody who knows me whether relatives, friends or neighbours ask me what are you doing? This questions frustrates me a lot because i have nothing to do. I am free whole day confused what to do.
Could anybody suggest me which coaching program should i join?
Suggestions welcome

I would recommend finishing your studies and finding a job related to those studies.

While you're making some money, start IM on the side and get a good coach.

You could still research the forum, so that in time you'll have at least an understanding of where to go and who to get coaching from.

For beginners perhaps the Chris Farrell membership may help. This is just my opinion - but it has helped a lot for many. And his program is step by step and not costly.

IF you want to succeed in IM, or any other business for that matter, you need to think for yourself. A coach or mentor can be helpful, but like anything else, they are a tool and you need to learn to use your tools. If all you want is someone to say do this or that, and all you do is this or that, then you will fail.

Listen, Think, Learn. Then do for yourself

Do what everyone in the world does and get a job to help you live and pay for your IM endeavors. Most people who start their own business work another job to pay the bills while they grow their business.

You have no work experience so instead of trying to gain relevant work experience, even if it means working for free at an internship, you are willing to pay people to "coach" you? That doesn't sound like a good idea to me.

It's one thing to venture into IM and start tossing around money if you have an idea. From the sounds of things you have no idea, and are willing to throw money at things in hopes an idea comes to you.

You are at the right place ... but the best thing for now will be to complete your studies and find the job as mentioned before ....

I was the same as you ... i am always fascinated by the amount of money people can make in IM but its not that easy for a newbie .... it needs a lot of learning, experimentation and patience .... but i dont jumped all in ... i started working on my day job and daily spare some time and read different things here and there ... make notes ....

Also the coaching stuff is really tricky ... the best coaching technique was self coaching for me ....

Wholeheartedly agree - get a job after school and start to build your income and SAVINGS. Do not quit your job until you have saved enough for an emergency fund. Read in the forum, make a decision about what you want to TRY and then do it. Half the effort is in taking the action. Once you have taken action on SOMETHING you have a better chance of recognizing what you want to do and how you want to do it.

It's like watching a basketball game and noticing that many of the players dribble the ball down the court and shoot. But until you get in the game and play you don't always realize all of the different roles the players are in - and even some that play multiple roles in the game.

Do not watch from the sidelines. Pick something, learn it from the forum, and then do it. You will probably not be super successful your first time out of the gate - but with effort, persistence and perseverance you will.

  • Hello viewsonic,

I would highly recommend finishing your studies and then getting some sort of entry level job in the Internet Marketing field. SEO and inbound marketing companies are popular in India, perhaps you can find one of those? Or even become an IM virtual assistant.

This is only temporary, however the experience will be a catalyst to a successful career in independent Internet marketing, in my opinion.

Also, you can take some courses in SEO, social media marketing, etc online and then try and bid on some jobs on freelancer.com, odesk.com, etc.

Once you become more familiar with the strategies, services, and Internet marketing in general, you will become a much more productive professional.

Good luck! Let me know if you have any questions. This was my path and today I'm a very successful professional in both Internet marketing and digital public relations.

Just take a few hours out of each day to look around the Warrior Room.

The amount you can learn from here is phenomenal, but make sure you implement!

The only other thing to add is if there are any IMers you could meet up with, that could be useful but I literally don't know the lie of the land in your neck of the woods. When you browse this forum follow up on the guys who make sense too you

This something I would recommend. It will take some time, effort, research (and of course money) to find a reputable coach.

A coach will definitely help shorten the learning curve and have you not waste your time (depending on the coach obviously)

    And give yourself more credit...

I'm in the exact same situation as you are in. I have been banging my head against the wall for almost a year now. My eyes have been glued to the computer for 10 hours a day. It's like a fog on the road, I don't know which direction to go

Ask yourself: What and Who do I want to BECOME?

        Not in 30 years...not in 10 years...not maybe even in 5 years...maybe in 2 years.

One of the tough things I remember about being in my late teens and early 20s was that I didn't know what I did and didn't like. It took me about 15 years of trial and error to find out.

If you do a bunch of information interviews, where you go (without asking for a J-O-B) spend 20 minutes or half an hour talking to people in various professions, you can learn a lot in a short time. What does their typical day look like? What do they like about it? Hate about it? Just call people who are doing that job and ask them for the interview.

Then you can start to think about these roles and your personality. What's a good fit, and what isn't.

Once you have picked a direction, find a couple of mentors--people who are 5-10 years ahead of you in the field. You WILL find people who are glad to help, especially when they see you are struggling over the same ground they were recently on.

These two things: information interviews and getting a couple of mentors, will do more for you more quickly than anything else.
