Anyone else interested in the trend of "Webinars"?

Webinars have become quite the topic recently in the internet marketing world. I have become a fan of strategies involving using webinars to your advantage for launching new products and building lists. I actually know a guy who hosts smaller webinars at around 10-20 seats, but he sells for $600 a piece. He is a valuable coach and offers an amazing webinar.

I have been working with smaller end webinars where seat prices fall between $10-$100 per seat. I started specializing in marketing these webinars to niche networks filling the seats as fast as possible. The more clients I find, the more possibilities I find when it comes to making this a full time job.

I guess what is everyones thought on this? What do you think of webinars? Is it a upcoming market that will dominate the learning niche or even ebooks?

P.S. I am looking for a partner/investor since i do have a neat blueprint for a viral idea pertaining this niche. Anyone that is interested in this type of business, get a hold of me.

Otherwise, I would like to hear opinions.

I have been fixated on Webinar marketing lately as well and plan on it being an integral part of my sales and fulfillment.
Been stalled in putting my first webinar out, just put the final pieces in place tonight for what I want to offer so I will be jumping in this pool shortly
The Webinar traffic platform, or a best of webinars idea is very smart.
Thinking of after I produce a handful of Webinars to offer to joint venture with offline businesses to put their own sales webinars out?
It's crossed my mind to do something similar but with podcasts.
I think the idea of training webinar workshop listings and joint venture partner site may be profitable as well.
Let me know how it goes - I may be interested to work with you.

Yeah, the cool part about webinars is that almost anyone can do it. I knew a guy that was really shy and really didn't like talking in front of people, but he had a method that made him passive income that would never saturate. He started with 1 a week and eventually filled seats daily.

The negative part about everyone starting up webinars is that they don't know where or how to market it. That is a huge downside if the presentation is one of a kind that people will pay for. I think what is available out there for marketing purposes is lacking a bit especially for webinars. I think you will eventually see a ton more people getting into it.

Natalie, get a hold of me sometime on skype: zball24. If not, just shoot me a pm here, I think we are on the same page

Thanks Natalie, pleasure talking with you as well. Would still like to hear more on this topic. Any webinar hosts out there that have high end prices, free? What is your strategy with hosting a webinar?

I think that if webinars are your thing you will probably end up doing something good and revolutionary with them once you hold on to the idea that you see.

Don't even give people a chance to upset your dream by asking our opinion. The problem is you may be seeing things which we are blind to.

On the other hand, ask our opinion so you can get a feel for what we are thinking so that you can know how you want to proceed.

The thing I don't like with webinars is having to commit to being there for the show. People need to be warmed up for the show and my idea is that only your loyal followers are really going to be there. These loyal people will hear what you have to say at anytime you send them a message.
I am not completely sold on webinars just yet.

A few years back I remember my inbox started to fill up with webinars from various marketers, but have since unsubscribed from them all except the ones from helpful people. A lot of them were just direct sales pitches, some were sales pitches with a bit of helpful info at the beginning (like dangling a carrot in front of a horse) and the best ones genuinely gave at least 90% value without a sales pitch. The latter kind I continue to subscribe to.

Webinars are a great way to demonstrate your knowledge in a given niche, and attract people to your website where you can THEN offer details about a product or coaching course. I doubt many people want to sit through a webinar sales pitch!

If you can charge a fee for people to watch a webinar, great! However, you'll get far more subscribers if you offer it for free, and make more money on the back end instead with a related product or service. Webinars deliver lots of value, like a video but with live feedback. I would suggest using this high value to attract customers to your website, instead of selling them straight up.

Webinars have actually been around for a while. I wouldn't call it a recent trend but within the last few years.

In the IM niche I've seen them most used as a selling tool to sell a high-priced product or as a training tool to give additional training as a bonus to products, or for masterminds, etc.

It seems you are talking about webinars where people pay just to attend the webinar, kind of like a paid seminar without having to attend physically.

In what niche are you doing this?

In what niche are you doing this?

No particular niche to be honest. Just have been brainstorming some ideas together that may revolutionize the webinar market.

Yeah i do agree with everyone that thinks that webinars are beneficial when they are free while making money on the back end for sales on a new product launch or a coaching course.

As far as convenience on time zones, I think that part is still the biggest problem. When is a good time to really have a webinar? That is something you have to choose when you figure out who your target audience is.

The neat thing about webinars is that most hosts will have multiple times for people who can't make it the first time around. The other strategy some people do is have it recorded so you can buy it afterwards if you miss it or you will be able to watch it for free. There a few ways going about this.

Love where this conversation is going. Keep the discussion going

I think webinars are excellent, when they offer true value.

I haven't as yet put anything into play myself, but am very interested in doing so very soon, as I can see the potential of the thing when the value proposition is right for the buyer.

Will keep my eyes open for where this thread goes...

Like someone else said, webinars are not a new idea, but they can still be an effective way of reaching your people and new audiences. There are many ways of doing them. Some webinars are just educational, but a lot are both educational with a pitch at the end. However, if it's a worthwhile topic, then I still come away with more than when I got there.

I never said that so not sure where you both are getting that from. I quoted " Webinars are becoming quite the trend recently".

Anyway, I really thought it was neat, I was doing research earlier and found that a ton of companies are actually have training through webinars and there are also a ton of certifications you can get through buying seats to a series of webinars.

        Definitely some great ideas.
Anyone know anything about Kickstarter...would this work for a Kickstarter funded project?
Maybe a membership option...don't know if that would work for high end stuff though.
I think the training certification idea has really got a ton of potential,,,lots of places you could go with that - possibly without a lot of foreplay,,or I mean a sales webinar before the paid content webinar.
Probably some money just putting these together for mid-size companies.
......Or companies paying recurring fees to run their employees through mandated certification training webinars that is documented and updated without the company having to hassle with it.
I can tell you from the corporate world....the amount of training, documenting, certifying, etc...is mind boggling!

Oh, I understand what you're saying now. A lot of offline businesses use webinars, and I think more and more are realizing the potential. It's a great way to reach new customers/clients too.

it's not really new, people have been using webinars to teach and sell since I started back in 2007 and probably before that even.

I personally love using webinars to sell and teach, it's just so easy and effective, and I don't think it will be going anywhere anytime soon.

Does anyone know of any training companies that have loads of webinars? I am kind of curious the amount of marketing they do to get those out to a niche area.
