I worked along at home until my business grown and I had to hire more people. They worked at home at the beginning but I realized that I need to centralize the things a lil bit

I work on it from home when I can but I also have a day job as a development trainer, so it's a hard graft. I probably only get a few hours a day on IM so I do alright considering.

Yep at home alone most of the time, meet up with my coach maybe once a month. There's a new coffee shop just opened up down the road from me, if it's got wi fi I might decide to take my office there on occasion.

    Yes I work from home.

Wake up when I want. Fire up my 3 PC's. Make coffee. Check email. Then start checking what VA's have been up too.

It is such a hard life?

I've been working from "home" for the last 12 years, before that I worked in a company for a year, but before I was at school/university.
I don't intend on having an office, at least that's not what I wish now, maybe later who knows, but I don't see why, except maybe if I become a millionaire and get bored at home, I don't know. :-)

For 12 years now!? Wow! I wish I can work from home starting now already all the time with IM ha ha! I can't

I realize this should be in the off topic forum but I guess there's not much people who'll see our posts there anyway ha ha.

I work alone at home but not always because I still do some stuff offline for extra cash.

    Here in Thailand...

I do my work in hostels, guesthouses, hotel rooms, coffee shops.

Back in Miami Beach when I had an apartment, it was so isolating. Here you hang out with some people then focus on work. Go to jiu jitsu practice, focus on work. Get some beer and dinner, focus on work again...

The key to productivity and happiness is a rise and fall rhythm and making sure you meet your "primal" human needs: socialization, exercise, play, work, good food, sunshine, etc.

Wow, this subject has been on my mind a lot lately, glad it didn't end up in the off topic forum because I would not have seen it.
I really like the 2 comments above, I think I would find the same as Themezio...having a small team and an office I would likely work my *ss off -
Just for some reason feels more natural.
Vtotheyouknow's comment on it being isolating really hit home for me...the isolation doesn't work well for me - feels like Groundhog day every day. I also loved his point on their being a rhythm and flow.
I'm starting to track through notes I make on my to do list how to set up my workday to work best with my particular energy levels, etc...Has helped increase my productivity 30% just this week by paying attention to what schedules work best.
I'm starting to think for me to be at my super productive hard working best I need to be surrounded by more people and hustle....deadlines, people to be accountable to - not a boss - God Forbid but accountable no less.
In working with a really good coach recently he pointed out that whenever I am successful at anything there is a lot of movement and variety.
I ran warehouses, had 100's of people reporting to me for 20 years.
I just couldn't figure it out. I've moved the office in my house 4 times now.
Took him to point out - it wasn't the office - I just need to be up and moving.
Getting it back on the topic of internet marketing....knowing this I will only work on methods and niches where I can and want to build community and be highly interactive.
I also stand up to work on my laptop quite often now and that feels much more natural...but the community building I still have to add in - I think certain personalities can work very well in a void.
I am not one of them and it's proved to be immensely helpful knowing that.
Keeps me from wasting time on things I shouldn't be pursuing and helps me hone in on my target market and how I will provide value.

I do too but after so many years it gets boring and I get distracted really easy.
Next month I`ll start going to a co-working space near my apparment and see how that works for me, I guess even if I spend just 2-3 hours per day there it`ll be good just to be out, specially since I`ve been walking witch crutches for over a year now and still going so I don`t get out much.

    Coffee shops and at home.

I used to have a commercial office, but didn't like it. I have a coffee shop 10 steps from my house, so it's a no-brainer.

Once my son is a little older, my wife and I hope to travel a bit more where I can work on the road. That should be fun ... maybe do a mini-trial run. This will only work when I can get my workload down to about 4 to 5 hours a day.

yes from home during my free time. Mostly on the weekends or in the evenings. That is enough to run my online business and earn decent income. There was a period of time when I was thinking about quitting my job and rely on my online income only. I am happy that I didn't do that in the end. It is hard to work at home alone all day we are social people and work in the office adds more color to our life.

I spent 6 hours today at a client's house (who owns a restaurant) at which time after we both decided it was time to go to the bar (conveniently located at her restaurant) where we started to unwind and had a couple of spontaneous last minute ideas.

Same, I never actually had a real job. I got into freelance writing a few years ago and I have been doing that ever since to make quick cash while learning what I can about IM and setting up websites on the side. Its been working fine for me so far but it is getting quite boring and I would like to try something else. Sitting on your computer all day alone almost everyday can be quite depressing.

Alone can take on many meanings here...

It's rare I am ever home alone.

I am building my business alone, so alone in that regard, but with a gazillion interruptions, disasters, distractions, and a huge motivation to have a either a sound proof vault to lock myself away in (alone) or eventually a bigger residence with space to escape the chaos!

Although, I think I'm actually getting better at ignoring the distraction of being at home - and getting in the 'zone' is getting a lot easier.
