Are 'Website' and 'Blog' Synonyms By Now?

I have written a free report to get subscribers and I am obsessing about the name and tagline.

My business mostly revolves around "blogs" but I'm afraid if I put "blog" in the title, I will discourage anyone who just has a "website." And, vice versa of course.

The technique in the report can work for websites and blogs alike. The thing is, the title I came up with sounds better with the word "blog" rather than "website" or "site"

Another thing I am obsessing about; Can I use the word "blog" in the title and "site" in the tagline.

This brings me back to my original question; are the two words synonyms in most people's eyes?

In my eyes they are, since blogs account for about half of the websites out there

      Look at it this way.

All blogs must be a website,

But not all websites must be a blog.

I agree with both. Majority of website are blogs. Blogs come off more personal. Websites are more for a business, impersonal.

    No, they are not.

There is always a hierarchical relation between them: website is way much broader than blog. (It doesn't matter if a website is made with a blogging tool - don't listen to them )

It's like the relationship between genus and species...

Would you consider Amazon.com a blog?
Is the Warrior Forum a blog?
    Twitter? Apple? Microsoft?
    etc....
So, no, they are not synonyms.

A blog is a type of website. And a website created on a blog platform does not necessarily qualify it as a blog. They are not synonymous.

I have a wordpress website where I (try to) post daily reviews. It is a blog, but I do not consider it a blog really. It is a review website.

A blog will typically try to gain followers and build relationships. It is much more personal. Regular postings and follow up on previous content. etc.

I do not consider search engine land or seomoz blogs either (even though they are). They are industry news sites.

depends if you're blogging or not I guess. wordpress isn't a blog, it's a content management system.
