Affiliate Manager Tips?

Hey folks,

I'm hiring an affiliate manager for one of my niche sites. Curious to hear, from those of you who have people running your affilaite programs, what your tips or best practices would be? Do you also have your affiliate manager actively seeking new affiliates, or just managing the program and use someone else to recruit?

    Hey Warren,

    Great question. I actively manage several affiliate & JV programs and (in my experience and opinion) the the key to success is really just about support, support, support. Recruiting is very important but almost doesn't matter without over-the-top support for the new recruits. I could bore you with all the little tips & tricks that also go into running a successful program but, at the end of the day, support is what they/we all want & need. A well-paid and engaged affiliate/JV partner is a happy one. Hope this helps. Best of luck!

      Affiliate Managers usually manage the affiliates, support ensure all of the necessary tools are in place for affiliates (banners, swipe copies etc)

      Some recruit and it should be expected that some of that is involved but JV Brokers are the workhorses with recruiting. Affiliate managers usually work with brokers to ensure they have what they need to bring in the partners ...then manage them from there.

    Thanks. It's a small niche, has absolutely nothing to do with IM or MMO in any way. Most of the people I've spoken with, in the past about becoming an affilaite, have absolutely no idea what an affiliate program even is.

    In regards to JV Brokers, where do you go to find such a person, when it is a non-IM/MMO niche?
