So I've made a product...now what?

Hi gang,

While I've dabbled in IM over the past decade with mostly negative results, my actual profession and expertise is software programming. I've taken my interest in forex and coupled it with my programming abilities to create a new binary options indicator. I've been using it personally for weeks now and it's giving very impressive results, so I figured I could polish it up and begin selling it.

...and here's where I'm stuck. I don't want to stumble into this haphazardly, and I know just enough about IM to be dangerous. I'd like to leverage affiliates and I know I'll need a sales page, but these are areas I'm just not familiar with, at least not enough to know what the next step should be.

So how should I best approach this? Do I subcontract out each element (copy, sales page design, etc) or am I better served by partnering with someone who does this full-time, and we split the proceeds?

Thanks in advance for your advice and suggestions!

    Hello Adam ,

Since you have already developed the software and tested it , so there is no point to partnering with anyone else. You just go ahead and get a decent copy , sales page designed and start promoting it through any of the affiliate network ( Clickbank , jvzoo etc.).

    My suggestion for you .
    1. Outsource your copy
    2. Outsource your sales page designed.
    3. Get a decent squeeze page setup .
    4. Get your product accepted in any of the affiliate network ( clickbank , jvzoo)
    5. Get some positive review by giving some review copies and use those testimonial on your sales page.
    6. Start promoting your sales page and affiliate link .

    Affiliates..Affiliates..Affiliates

That is what you need to make money. Affiliates need a high converting offer and a great product. If you are not good at some aspects of business/marketing outsource it and delegate it to someone who knows better.

If you are weak in getting a nice salesletter done, then checkout the warriors for hire section and see what's in there. Read tons of testominials, then pick who you want to work with.

Getting graphics done for your salesletter, also has shown to improve conversions...Again, look in the warriors for hire section. Now that your salesletter/graphics are done....

If your product is Forex related, its best to put it in a marketplace that has your audience, if the WF has forex people, then possibly do a wso. If the wf, works for you...you could do an early bird sign notice and get people on your list and then on the day of the launch..simply announce that you are live....

If your wso has lots of traction, it encourages affiliates to jump onboard and promote, if the numbers look good.

You could sign up, to jvnotifypro and possibly pickup some affiliates there too.

    Adam-

Your sticking point here will be conversions. Yes
affiliates and traffic are important, but without
an effective salespage to send the visitors to,
    everything else is pointless.

You're going to need an effective method of
selling the product, actually turning those visitors
    into money.

Head over to the copywriting section, and read
the sticky post about the books you need to
read. Then buy those books, and study them.

Chances are you're not in a position to pay the
five-figures-plus a good copywriter will set you
back... and anybody you hire for just a few
hundred bucks or whatever is likely to be an
incredible waste of your time and money.

Instead, invest the money in those books, and
write it yourself. I guarantee you'll do a better
job than a cheap writer does.

    Hope that's useful,

It might be a good option to contact some affiliate gurus like JV brokers ... they usually offer to setup the complete marketing setup for the product but they will take a major share of the profit which makes sense but you dont have to worry about anything and you can invest this time in something you like like improve your product and if your product is good you will get much more sales than making your own campaign which will compensate for the affiliate cut ...

    Just a suggestion ....

    Congrats on your product!

    1. Get people vested in the build phase.
PSY had 72 influential choreographers consult for his Gangnam Style.
Steve Jobs had 412 Obj C programmers build apps before he announced iPhone 1.
Twitter got Google investors to be shareholders

    2. When you launch... all your share (even if it's just emotional share) holders will blast you out there.

    3. You need a fat contact base.
Buying it doesn't help. They must already know your name. So in this case, get a recommendation like authors did from Oprah.

I would outsource everything but I would go buy 'You get what you pay for' meaning that if you want good quality expect to pay a bit higher than cheaper outsourcing.
Also use affiliates giving them a high commission to attract the most affiliates possible to get the highest exposure!

    Cheers
