Just got this off the internet, some most likely have seen it. I guess even the non IM's understand the power of twitter:

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Ashton Kutcher has become the first member of Twitter to have over one million followers.

Social media rocks! I heard that Oprah is on Twitter, too. I'm going to check out Flutter. Thanks for this, btw.

There's another one called Plurk. But I prefer Twitter for now.

Now he has 1 million followers, what is he going to broadcast to them? I'm curious to see how many of those followers will stick.

It's interesting to see that it takes a celebrity to make the site go "mainstream." Seems like he has generated a lot of excitement for Twitter. (And CNN as well.)

Ashton gave 100K to Malaria No More | Ending Malaria Deaths when the milestone was made, and CNN was going to give some smaller amount.

It was an exciting event watching it unfold live on ustream, great milestone to watch.
