Am Confused With List Building.....

Hi warrior,
to be really candid, i must let you know that am really confused with list building, the reason is that am about to lunch a review site on "Kitchen utensils" in the nearest future and i want to build list along side, but i just find it hard to come up with something i must give away so as to get people to opt-in to my list.With this, i want to ask that what do you think i can give away in order to convert the website visitors to subscribers on my list as am targeting niche on tangible product. Thanks in advance.

        Do you know anything about the products you're trying to promote? If you did it should be quite simple to come up with some idea of things people into those products would like to see.

        How about a video demonstration of you using some of them or how to put them into action to make some delicious recipes?

    You don't really have to give something away to build a list, although it is the best way to do it. Say something like, enter email for new product releases etc.

    Some things that you could giveaway

    Pdf explaining how to use a few utensils
    Pdf 5 Utensils that just belong in your kitchen
    Video showing how to use utensils

    You get the picture, just use your imagination. What would you trade your email for is the better question.

      Exactly, figure out why people are using kitchen utensils?

      and figure out what other items are complimentary to that?

      Kitchen knives
      online cooking classes
      bakeware


      If I were you I would go into a specialty store that sells kitchen utensils and all kinds of cooking/kitchen supplies and see what they sell, and it might also give you ideas on what you could do

    I prefer to work backwards. Here's what I mean:

    I write out my first 10 emails in my autoresponder series. Because, nothing is worse than building a list and then having to write a new email every day or every few days so that you stay ahead of your first subscriber.

    Once you have some emails ready to send, you know what content you will be sending to your list.

    Now you know exactly what they will get when they subscribe.

    Then, you promote that in your optin copy.

    For example, if your first 10 emails are about "The Top 10 Kitchen Utensils You Aren't Using" then you have your optin copy. "Sign up now to find out the Top 10 Kitchen Utensils You Aren't Using".

    I don't really "incentiveize" my lists. Instead, I turn the carrot into the content and make them have to sign up and open the emails to get the juice.

    How about giving 5 to 10 page preview of the ebooks that you are writing so that they can make up their mind to buy your ebook or not. If they don't, you can always send them an offer back since their on your list. Otherwise just use a PLR articles or ebook to give them, or even better...Just hire someone to write 10 tips about kitchen utensils (make a keyword research for a low competition and high search keywords). Hope this helps.
