Formatting An Ebook In MS Word - Problem!

Hi everyone,

I've got an annoying problem in MS Word that I just can't solve.

I want my bulleted lists to be double spaced so that they don't look cluttered. But adding the bullets always returns my text to single spaced!

(I'm trying to double space the paragraphs, not the actual lines of text).

I've tried everything I can double space the text fine, as I always do, but as soon as I touch that bullet option the paragraph breaks go back to single...

Is there a way to stop this and keep them double?

This is my attempt to explain it without creating a video to show you:

    1. Hit the return key after the bulleted line (this will create a new bulleted line displaying just a bullet)
    2. Hit the backspace key to remove the new bullet

    Thanks, Ron!

That works better than anything else. I didn't even try this because I was looking for a feature that did it properly. Does this mean there isn't one? Seems a bit strange for such a versatile software...

I can do exactly what I want in something like PowerPoint...Strange I can't in Word.

Without a feature that does it proerly, there's no way to adjust line spacing for example...

There probably is a feature. You could also try to format the bulleted list instead of the paragraph.

I'm glad at least that worked for you .

You need to adjust the Spacing > "After" the paragraph for the bulleted list.

I've attached a silly DOC you can use to play with it.

The screen cap is from the Mac version of Word but it's basically the same thing in Windoze Word.

    Format Paragraph - Spacing, "after".

    Hope this helps,

    Brian

    Hi

What I do is put the bullets in after writing all the text.

Therefore, type your list, or whatever first, then highlight it and click on bullets.

    Hope that's what you're after.

      Howdy

Not sure if this is what you are after with your question, but if you hold down the Shift key when you hit the Enter key it will give you a blank line. When you hit the Enter key again (without the Shift key) it goes back to the bullet list.
