Share your blog traffic generation success stories - Looking for inspiration

Hey guys,

I know there's a ton of methods to generate traffic, I'm just looking for a bit of inspiration here, if you have any success stories I'd love to hear them, what worked well for you I hope can work well for me and others.

Personally my best success has been creating a article about a big brand name product and reviewing it, lots of search engine traffic resulted.

Regular content is a great place to start. It's essential for long term traffic...long tail, etc.

I think guest posting on other high authority blogs in your niche is a good way to create followers. Even a few high quality guest posts, on the right blogs can generate a huge wave of traffic, subscribers, etc.

And of course Google's QDF or "Query Deserved Freshness" -- which is why regular content is king.

Are you a writer or video blogger?

I write all my articles, never tried video blogging. I was considering converting my articles into videos for youtube, but I really don't want to go the automated route.

My most traffic have come from blogging. The key to it is to write quality content and blog daily. My Ohio bass fishing site when I blog in the summer daily has always been number 1 on Google. I had a recipe site that was number 1 on Google. All due to writing quality content and blogging at least once a day.

Some of my best traffic sources are:

        Articles
        Videos
        Forums
        SEO

I do a mixture of all of the above and the consistently send me lots of traffic daily.

Depending on your budget, PPC could be a viable source for you too.

If you want more traffic, create a product.

I know that's kind of a strange thing to say, but here's my success story: for every product/service/membership I've ever created, it's been way easier to get traffic than for any blog or niche site.

One of my product sites is about half a year old and consists of the sales page and some simple blog posts about product updates. It gets more traffic than my 3 year old blog, which is chock-full of awesome content.

When you sell something, more marketing channels open up for you.

Plus, you get to make use of the best attention hack ever, because people who buy from you are much more likely to pay attention to you (even just a little bit). And the same goes for people who are about to make a buying decision.
