I use OIOPublisher because it automatically runs your own advertising system that lets you sell the advertising space on your website.

It's a paid plugin but there might be a free plugin that does the same thing. I bought OIO several years ago but it has been constantly updated and I install it on all of my blogs.

  "Quick Adsense" is one that I use. It has lots of different options to put the ads in many different places in the page or post and also allows you to prioritize your ads.... it's versatile enough for my uses..
  
  The name is a bit of a misnomer.... but you can slap whatever code that you need to in it....
  
  And the best part is..... it's a free plugin.

I would say WP Insert for adsense. Very user friendly.
From all categories, I'd have to say Total Cache or WP Super Cache.

I think you have to try DirectAdsMarket. It allows you to sell Twitter and Facebook profile ads. The user can simply add their Twitter or Facebook profile link and pay for his/her profile to be displayed on the publisher’s website. Publishers can charge any amount on a per minute, day, week, month, or year basis. Free banner ads are also available in case you’d like to use the plugin to reward the most frequent or most valuable visitors to your WP blog. The plugin counts how many clicks are generated for each banner and ads automatically expire accordingly. The banner ads can be displayed in a Direct Ads Market widget or any other location within a WP page or post using shortcodes and conditional tags.
