Digital Download Process via Paypal - Any Guidance On Email Follow Up??

Hey..I have a digital download product I'm selling but the checkout process isn't exactly smooth using Paypal's checkout button. I have auto-return selected so it redirects my buyer back to the download link but I'd like to also have an email sent with the download link as well (Paypal just sends the transaction email).

I know there are various digital delivery websites out there but I'm not looking to host my products somewhere else. I just want to send a follow up email with the download link.

Anyone have a good recommendation on how to accomplish this?

Hello there. Are you capturing your customers' email addresses that purchase? If you used a service like aweber, you could just direct the purchase to an email sign up form, then have the form direct to the download page. Then, you could have the first autoresponse message send the download link to their sign up email....is that what you mean?

    Just a thought..

Matt - thanks. That is a creative way to go about it. I am using Aweber so I can create a follow up message with the download info.

it's not the easiest or prettiest way to do it, I"m sure, however I have used this way to 1. make sure i get the buyers on the list and 2. make sure they get two looks at the download page. If you use something like wso pro or jvzoo, it works a little different but can be set up the same way

    Good luck.

How about directing the customer to the registration page after they have make the payment through payment. Besides building a customer list, you will able to email them the product download link too.

If you want to be really sure that they get access to the product, you can make use of ejunkie too.

Well I'm already collecting their opt-in info and it's part of my oto that I'm trying to work with. I can just redirect them to a email submit form like Matt suggests and send a follow up email to them. I'd prefer not to have to ask them twice for their email but seems like the best way to go.
