Fake Adwords Login - On Google!

How can this happen???

If you type adwords in google search today at around 2:30 the second sponsored result is a link to a fake adwords login!

It sometimes comes up as the first sponsored link also.

The website url gives it away a little by being a french website on google uk but the site links underneath might trick you if you weren't looking properly.

The site links all lead to the fake Adwords login page.

How can a company as big as Google allow something like this to happen??? it's beyond belief.

Please take a look at the screenshots below for more detail.

Google will index anything if the seo is optimized, they will only take it down if it gets reported.

I think the 2 posts above missed the point - the fake login was not in the serps results it was the in the top two PAID listings.

My point is - how could that have slipped through there checks adwords when some guys have had adwords ads removed for far far less!

Google links aren't inspected manually. Frankly, they don't care if a site has the word "Google or Adsense" in it. This smells of a phishing site to me...

Possibly a bug. I can't think of any other explanation.

Agreed. We always knew it was possible for the Great Google to make a mistake. It's just nice to see some proof once in a while!

The ads will be removed. Unlike Facebook, Google doesn't pre-approve each ad before it goes live. Once you have an adwords a/c, new ads go live without being checked. Of course, once your ad is found out you lose your account.

I think they applied a different page for the ad, and swapped the content.
