What is better on Craigslist- link to squeezepage or autoresponder to website?

Hi everyone,

I'm setting up an ad campaign via Craigslist to market the services of a company which offer financial services/ loans advise to small businesses, which I aim to put under the financial services section.

I've already looked at quite a few threads on here, and pretty much worked out the ins and outs of what is and isn't allowed on CL, so I know I have to be pretty smart about this.

I've identified a good outsourcer/poster who will be able to post in multiple cities. I've also been asked to do an image ad which I've been told cuts out the need to respin/write it apart from the headline, saving time.

One thing I'm not entirely clear about is the method which will get me the highest clickthroughs.

I understand that a squeezepage will be allowed so long as it isn't too spammy looking. Does anyone have any experiences of this?

I've also been told there's a "Hidden rule" of "Your post may not contain a link "to a commercial website or auction." which I've been told, isn't listed, but people have been blocked and told about it afterwards?! This sounds strange as I've seen links to websites for commercial services listed on CL...

I know that direct affiliate links aren't allowed, so I've been told another method could be to leave an email address linked to an autoresponder which then sends the affiliate site link.

I wonder if any of you could comment on this or advise as to what else I could do for a truly successful ad campaign on Craigslist?

I would say try putting a url in your picture ad that people can type in AND using an AR to send them the link.

Personally I would avoid trying to put hyperlinks in the ads or even the domain itself in the ad, way too easy of a footprint for cl to find. Sure they can see the domain in the pictures but that's harder to do then just doing a simple text search.

So considering you think it's okay to put a url providing it's in the picture, then really it makes no difference if it's a squeezepage or direct affiliate link then?

Just depends on the offer and what your doing as to which one will work the best. Make sure you keep the domain simple as possible so people have less chance of screwing it up.

It all depends on the niche you are targeting.

I'm targeting small businesses who require both advice on credit checks to be eligible for loans, as well as those requiring loans who already fir the criteria.
