Active mailinglist vs. paying customers

Hi guys,

I'm new on this forum. Nice to meet you. I'm a graphic designer and actively internet marketeer for 3 years now.

One particular question remains unanswered in my experience:

A visitor downloads a free report, thereby he subscribes himself to my mailinglist, this list keeps emailing over a period of 28 days (Of course with pauses). However... a few minutes after subscribing he purchases my product. But he keeps getting my emails, making him buy a product he already bought.

How do you guys solve this?

Reporting out,
Davonni

  • You can setup list automation in your autoresponder so when they buy your product they have to sign up to a new 'buyers' list. Then setup the automation so when they join your buyers list they are removed from your 'prospects' list.

This is how I do it anyway... You can find list automation inside the list settings tab in aweber.

    Hope that helps
    Simon

Is this a good way to do it? Doesn't making them sign up twice cause some people to unsubscribe?..

If you change the delivery intervals of your buyers list vs. your prospect list, you reduce the chances of people unsubscribing.

Let's say your prospect list goes out every Sun, Tues, Thurs, Sat.

You can have your buyer's list go out on Mon, Wed, Fri.

This way, you're not emailing them 2 times in one day.
