I want to make money with youtube. Need Tips!

Hi

I recently came across youtube and found that there are opportunities to make some money with it. I want to make atleast $2 k per month using youtube adsense. I already have adsense account and have uploaded a few videos (also enabled monetization)

Some one please guide me on how to get huge traffic and lots of views on youtube. If there is any decent course that teaches how to earn money with youtube, please suggest.

I saw that there is a High voltage Video marketing forum (a new subforum). Will that $22 for subscribing help me to achieve my goal. Please suggest.

  • Jskarthik1,

You could do a lot of things to drive more traffic to your videos. Share them in any place that you can. If you have social networks, grow your following and share videos there. Make sure your videos are optimized for search. You can also do promoted videos on youtube. Another trick is to use your videos as a video response on another Youtube video. The idea is to promote them as much as possible anywhere you can. Create links to your videos from web 2.0 properties that you set up on platforms like wordpress.com.

Above all else, you have to make good videos or people won’t share them. I’m not sure what your niche is but the most successful videos in terms of views are either entertaining in some way or informative.

Perhaps you can get some more ideas here,

    Hope that helps,

I have an idea but didn't test it...

My idea is to create videos (1-2 min long) on current news with a voice-over and put nice images and post them on youtube.

I didn't pick a niche though.. May be I will post most of my videos on technology news.

I have to see how it works out.

The willingness to create voice-overs is overcoming a big hurdle, IMO. It seems this is a stumbling block for many. And, audio is a big part of creating videos and not really appreciated by many video marketers.

What you need to do is create a system so you can pump out quality videos, including where to get images, what software works best for you, etc.

There's a number of marketing methods, but marketing doesn't matter if you can't/won't create videos and it seems you're willing to do the "hard" part, which is actually the audio.

if you want to make money on Youtube, you need to start from researching keywords, making sure you can rank for such keywords by analysing the competition, and then creating the videos

You've got a pretty good idea for doing news stories.

You'll still need to get your videos ranked though, and the faster the better especially for news content.

I'd search the war room for any yt video ranking software/training and start there.
Remember what was said about syndicating your videos across the web & use social media to help draw a crowd.

Beyond that, it's all up to you taking action and getting it done.

Lots of news out there, the more time you can spend creating videos & passively getting them ranked the faster you can reach your goal.

    Hello,

You can use Google trends and see whats hot and base videos around that. Has generally some things really take off and if you have various videos ready and waiting you could have a lot of visitors! On your videos you can advertise your links and so on

With Adsense, your income will always be limited to some extent. Maybe you could try monetizing your videos in different ways? For example, you could promote/review products in your videos and earn through an affiliate program such as ClickBank. You could even drive traffic from your videos onto another site where you can start building up a mailing list.

For me, Youtube is just a tool - I don't recommend basing your entire business around YT adsense.

    This great advice.

Don't build your business on a foundation of sand...YouTube adsense could evaporate at a moments notice.

While monetizing your videos with adsense is a great idea...the key is making lots of videos and getting lots of views.

I recommend you aim at reviewing products and earning commissions from it. Join Clickbank and start doing reviews about some of their high gravity products. People refer to Youtube to look for reviews and else, so this could be a strategy to take into account. Good luck!

There are ton of ways to leverage Youtube.

    Do you have a niche?

Are you planning to make all of the videos yourself?

When you commit to doing it, please be consistent with your sharing so your channel will gain visibility on its own over time.

Do note that YouTube Adsense conversion rate is not high compared to google Adsense.
You probably need to drive more traffic to the videos.

The best way will be using web2.0 properties like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest to backlink your video in YouTube. Don't embed the videos in the web.20 properties itself. The key is to drive the traffic to YouTube.

To be honest that voiceover is going to be really hard to listen to for anything over 30 seconds. I got 10 seconds in before I found it annoying.

The thing with what you hope to achieve is that you are competing with real personalities, people who have built up communities around themselves and what they do. Sourcefed already do a lot of technology based news as well as many other professional quality channels out there. What are you going to bring to your viewers that they don't.

You can't compete with stock photos and voice over software, the youtube crowd are harsh, believe me I know I have built a channel as a hobby in the gaming community and you have to be make high quality stuff to get anywhere these days. If you want to succeed off of advertising revenue you have to become a personality and build a fan base. Its hard and not everyone is capable of it especially if they aren't willing to step in front of a camera.

I agree. It's much harder to connect with other people using a robotic voice over. Using computer generated voices will also mean your videos will be more likely to be flagged as spam, and the quality of info will have to be much higher.

BTW jskarthik1, we have a thread in the High Voltage forum that actually discusses how an Indian member can use his accent to his advantage. I also posted a couple of ways to use Scrapebox to help your video marketing using legit methods...I saw that you had Scrapebox in your sig. I hope you didn't sell it, as it can be a great tool for YT marketing.

Don't be discouraged youtube can be very profitable, but the route you were going with it is very hard. You want to have some other form of monetisation.

I'm currently working on a new channel that will have a component of adsense earnings but that is just a bonus the main earner will come from affiliate commission from products related to my videos.

  • There is only one thing that really works to succeed with this kind of stuff; stick-to-itiveness

If you REALLY want this then you have to find ways to commit yourself to this.

Youtube is like the second largest search engine on the net and if you want to succeed then you must at least: upload a few videos per week (preferably daily), offer unique content, smart usage of social channels like pinterest.

    stick-to-itiveness dude!

Youtube is all about ranking. It is a powerful media site and search engine! I suggest you rank for non-competitive high traffic keywords. Include them in your file name, title, comments etc! Also add plenty of quality backlinks that you can grab dirt cheap on fivverr! The final thing is to monotize it with some CPS or CPA offers!

    Goodluck!

Actually, I disagree. "Ranking" is the most over-rated aspect of YT marketing. Internal YT marketing is more often the way to get serious traffic. Things like real subscribers and being listed on "suggested videos" on popular YT videos can bring more views and traffic than being ranked in YT and Google.

This is easy to check, as YT has a stats feature that shows the Top 10 sources of traffic for videos and most channel owners still have this set to "public". Just go to a video in your niche that's getting views and click on the little icon that looks like a graph and you can see where the views are coming from.

This article is a little out-dated, as YT now lets channel owners set their stats to private, as well as YT has changed their layout since the article was written, but it's still got info that's good to know:

Another tip you may find useful if you do not already know is you can monetize your videos in a similar way to monetizing websites with adsense!

But YouTube state that before monetizing videos you must own all the necessary rights to use commercially all visual and audio.

You cannot use copyrighted videos from another YouTube account for monetization!

Focus on providing quality content in the videos and try and think about what people would look for on Youtube.

Some niches work better than others but if you have a well made video with some awesome content and then you keyword optimize the title and description you can do well.

Then the key is to check out the most viewed videos in your niche and comment or have a look at which vids are ranking in Google and comment on them.
