About 6 months ago I've set up a website with travel affiliate program without believing making money but the reason I did was mostly part of a test. I did track first months earnings and got some pennies so never promote it or seo, just abondant it and was letting domain name dropped. Then Yesterday I get an email about receiving over $140.00 direct in my paypal from the affiliate program, so I was saying here it comes another scammer that want me to click on link and hack my account.
But just to verify, I login to my paypal with direct url and BOOM! Real cash was there as stated in the email! I was stunned.

So going to renew my domain for sure.

Do you feel that travel affiliates is still a geat niche I though that it was like weight loss, too much competition.

  • Well if you are making money from it, then it would seem its not dead. But how much is it costing you to maintain? What is your monthly ROI? How much profits are you seeing?

I would try to stay "in" the hot niche's. Trying to affiliate in low market niche's is creating more hassle for yourself and your online income.
  • I earn a lot in travel. Its one of my main sources of income. The trick is to get into the right program with the right team.

  • travel and vacations are a great niche
  • I would like to say that if making the website cost your very less and if it now reached to a level to earn money than I believe you just need to focus little bit on it and take it to the next level so you can generate some good income from it and this might cover up all your cost from one website..

Your patience is inspiration for new comers.. just need knowledge, believe and patience to success online..

I used to be involved in this market (in two different "high-ticket" ways), but I haven't been for more than 3 years, now.

It's not the competition I mind (there are always non-competitive ways of promoting things, and I have very little interest in search engine traffic anyway, because that's by far the worst-performing kind of traffic I've ever had, overall, in any of my multiple niches): my problem is the uncertainty and unreliability of payment.

Throughout the travel markets, it seems to me, one's security of payment is at best "questionable".

What proportion of people really book things - especially expensive things - online, with your affiliate cookie in their browser, rather than reassuring themselves about a travel company's credibility by calling them, speaking to a "real person" and eventually booking whatever-it-is that way? Those who think the answer's 100% don't need to share my worry about payment (but I know it was never that high, for me).

  • no information on how you promoted your site... huh..

if this is true then im happy for you..

i hope you have a plan that you could duplicate for repeated success.

  • All programs and products sell no matter how sexy (or stupid) they are. But consistency (in profit) goes to the people who are skilled in marketing.

  • Hi,

I am currently in a Travel Business Project that gives you a free subdomain website. All you have to do is to help market and drive traffic to the website. It is giving me good returns after an initial low investment. And the best thing is that its booking engine has won so many travel awards for the past few years. I am truly blessed to be involved in this particular project in the gigantic tourism industy.

So, travel industry is a gold mine waiting to be tapped.

    Tim
