Flippa.com Support is Horrible
About 2 months ago, I listed an amazon associate site on flippa.com. I was very inexperience and the site did'nt sell at all. I put too huge of a buy it now price where I should've did a bid with a reserve. I learned my lesson and about a couple of days ago, I relisted the site paying 1/2 price.
After about an hour of the site being up, I got my first bid on it(yay). But then flippa decided that they wanted to check my earnings. I was naturally cool with that, being that my site might go for a nice chunk of change. So I sent in screenshot after screenshot of my earnings and I kept getting asked the same question.
"Well, how do we know if all these earnings are comming from your site"
I sent an XML. also with all the orders that have been done. They answered back.
"So I see that a walking dead DVD was sold, but you don't have it listed"
I explained to them what a 24 Hour cookie was that amazon does, and I even showed the link found on the affiliate site. Then they told me that a product listed on pinterest with an amazon associate link was mine. It wasn't......In fact I never went on pinterest.com at all or even have an account there.
This went on for about 2 days(literally). When they would say something to me, I would reply back immediately in order to get this resolved and my listing back up. But for them it would take anywhere from a 1/2 hour to 14 hours. They said they are on australian time zone, but I don't think the time difference would've effect 2 days of this nonsense.
Here is some exact text from me to them after 2 days.
-Flippa-
"Apologies for the delay, as we've been reviewing the information you have provided.
We'd like you to please address the following question ;
As your Amazon affiliate account is made up of sales of products not directly related to the niche within your website for sale,
does this not indicate then that the claimed revenue amount being made within your listing will be dramatically less,
if the winning bidder provides only niche-related products through their own Amazon affilia"

Not necessarily. Lets say I sold the site 2 months ago when I initially listed it. If that person would've paid for traffic and did everything like I did, they would've made the same amount of money. In the end its is all up to the customer on whether or not the customer buys more products within 24 hours of hitting the amazon link.
I also paid out more in the last 2months that I did previously in traffic. I pad about $500-$600, whereas the previous months it was about $200-$300(it really varies).

Your Flippa listing at https://flippa.com/xxxxxx has been cancelled, and a refund for Listing Fees is being processed, in this instance only.
The revenue claims made in the listing were inconsistent with the types of products sold, and there was insufficient explanation as to why your Amazon affiliate ID is linked to a number of products, and receiving sales figures, for products not related to the website for sale's niche.
Kind Regards,
Okay, but could you do me a huge favor next time. When someone/anyone wants to list their amazon associate site on your site, could you please let them know that they can't, unless the ONLY show revenue from those products ONLY. And also they have to somehow hack into google and disable their 24 hour cookies.
Of course I'm being sarcastic, but what has been happening this with that of this support(2 days and your saying your giving me exceptional support) and asking about amazon affiliate site without knowing anything about what a 24 hour cookie is, is really unacceptable and annoying to say the least.
For future reference, maybe you want to consider adding in your TOS when anyone fills it out before ordering a site to be listing, how about you state that amazon associate sites cannot be sold.
Also, since this was the second time I am listing this site, whats going to be done with the 1st time? I had to pay the first time to get the same site up and you seemed to not mind it at all.
I just wanted to show this to anyone who is debating on selling their amazon affliate site on flippa.com
If you have products that are sold throughout the 24 hour cookie, they will not only not acknowledge it. But they will suspend and ultimately remove your listing. As aggravating as this was for me, I hope that someone will read this before posting their site on flippa and not do it!
There are many other places to post your site for sale on, and I already found a bunch to do this with. Of course I did'nt want to list my 1 and ONLY site on another site until it was 100% that flippa canceled my listing. 2 days of going back and forth with their horrible support, I finally got my answer. I would've loved to sell my site through flippa, but being an amazon associate I guess its impossible. Hopefully my mistake can help someone who is going to list on their crap site soon.
