Can you recommend a free iPhone simulator for mac?

Hi Guys,

I have a website that I'd like to make mobile friendly so I want to test how it looks on a mobile device currently.

The problem is I don't own an iPhone or smartphone.

Can you recommend a free desktop based simulator that shows how a website would look on a mobile device?

I use a Mac OS X Version 10.6.8 so unfortunately I cant use the Xcode application that's free in the Mac store.

Also, websites like Marketcircle | iPhoney and testiphone.com don't seem to actually bring up the mobile version of a website. I've put in domains using those applications that I know have a separate mobile version to what shows up on a desktop, but they just show the desktop version but in an iphone shell.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Matt

Never mind, found one. Mobilizer seems to do the trick,

Mobilizer is definitely the best one available short of getting one that connects to your actual phone.

I just now found an online version (in Beta). For some main URLs that redirect to a mobile URL, it works fine for some (ie: google.com and yp.com) but for some it does not detect the redirect. In those that it doesn't detect, you can just enter the real mobile site URL.

Since I just now found this site, I haven't checked it out extensively yet, so if anyone knows more about it, feel free to post here.

It currently has the option of seeing the site on seven different devices (you must click on the devices you want to see the website on).

(I was going to start a thread about this, but I can't find how to do that. Could it be that I don't have permission to do thar? I do see that I have started a couple, but they were so long ago, I don't remember how I did it. That's why I searched for an appropriate thread to post to.)

      Here's the link:

      Prism Multi-Device Web Proxy [BETA]

I'm not sure if they will remove the link, so it's:

      http:// prisim dot(.) com

PS: Maybe some should start a thread about how to start a thread.

Hmm, not a fan of that one.

        Looks clumsy.
