Made my first $50 (in two days!) - Need help/advice!

Hey warriors!

Bump with an update - todays revenue: $97 out of which profit: $50. This is sooo awesome! Also, started working on a website
Thanks everyone here for your awesome tips! Keep them coming if you have something more to add )
Cheers

I've been on a pretty long 'holiday' from Internet Marketing and just recently thought about trying to make some money yet again. Well, this time, it worked!

I did a bit of Fiverr arbitrage and managed to get some sales on Ebay. I was selling social media marketing (likes, followers etc.) As you can see I earned $50 in just 2 days - pretty awesome!

Now I have a problem. Or two.

First of all, stupid Ebay selling restrictions. I can only list 10 items/$500 per month which kinda sucks. Is there any way to go around this? Should I try advertising somewhere else?

Now this got me thinking that maybe I should open my own website selling social media marketing. But. There are a LOT of these sites so I would have a huge amount of competition. Do you think that I should try anyway?

Do you guys have any other tips? I was thinking about selling on Internet Marketing forums but seriously, who here hasn't heard about Fiverr...

Huge thanks in advance!

Promote your fiverr gig just like you would a website. Sign up for some web 2.0 properties and write a unique article about your get with a link to it. Open a new twitter account for you gig as well as a facebook fan page. Plaster your gig all over the net. Making 50 in two days is great, triple that and your in business!

I would use a site and social media as well. You just need to get the word out there and it can start to go viral. Well done on getting $50 and I hope you get more. Have you thought of doing a Youtube video?

Congratulations on the success. You are definitely doing something very right!!

My opinion is-- first of all max out your 10 listings on Ebay. Might you have a spouse or friend with an Ebay account? Who might want to list some similar items? Hint, hint.

AND-- make a sharp website offering the same or better services, and give your prior customers on EBAY a deal.... You want the repeat business.

Even if all you do is max out your listing opportunities, when you deliver your "goods", a special offer for them or their friends, (a special code or something) will give you a way to build your business. A little promotion here and there, you could be making 2k a month in 6 months.

Another reason for the website-- after you get the site making 1 to 2K a month, you can sell the site for big money on Flippa. Really. And then start again. Your second project will be even more successful because you will have loads more experience.

My partner in Portland does this same process all the time. He recently sold an eight month old linking site that made 1500/month for over $15K privately to a previous buyer of his sites.

Make sure your website is visually clean and clear. You will have no trouble getting exactly what you want for less than $100 on WF in Warriors for Hire.

    Again, congratulations!

Thanks both of you - great ideas DarkOneToo! I think I can sell 2 or 3 more on Ebay. I think I'll bump up the price a bit, it might take longer to sell but at least I'll have more profit

By the way, another order right as I am writing this

    Cheers!

I agree with the others. Set up a great website selling these services. You can actually get great templates for service websites. I believe 'MGT4' is still up on warrior forum and offers a huge amount of graphics! Once that is done, I would buy solo ads and PPC traffic to the website. Then sell it on Flippa.
    Goodluck!

    Dominium,

Congrats on the income in two days! That's awesome, sometimes all you need is a break to clear your head hey!

Regarding eBay, can you not just open another account to get around this? I am not sure if that is allowed or even enforced but just an idea.

And, the website idea is great, just remember, your only competing against the competition of the keywords you choose, not against every other mug in your niche!

    Good luck!

People have heard about Fiverr: yes, sure.

But not everybody is continually monitoring Fiverr. It is definitely possible to find a Fiverr gig, test it and if it is good offer it on an Internet Marketing forum.

Actually it is also possible the other way around: Find somebody on an internet marketing form that can deliver some valuable service and then offer that service on Fiverr.

Some people are good at delivering a service but do not want to deal with all the customers. That means you can help somebody out with this.

Thanks everyone! Yeah well I guess opening a new Ebay account is quite obvious but I tink thats rather grey hat which I would rather avoid.

I guess Ill get to my Ebay limit and then Ill see what I can do. i think ill just use the profit for buying a website design here on wf + hosting and a domain. Which means that even if everything goes bad Ill break even.

    Cheers!

You should def. Look into making your own site. Analyze your competiton, and make a list of everything they are doing wrong and bridge the gap with your website.

If you choose to stick to eBay, call them up and ask for a limit increase. I did it before and got my limit lifted in no time.

Lol, didn't think about that Sure even if it's like 1 sale a month, that's basically free money! Thanks!

I guess I could do that, yes, problem is... listing Fb likes / Twitter followers etc. is against the Ebay rules, so if they look at what I am selling...

Wouldn't having an eBay Shop get around this?

My eBay knowledge is a little out of date these days though.

I have services on Ebay also... If you have "buy it now" you can change the quantity... You can also use this to create a sense of urgency.

I have one with 100 unit available.

and definitely make your own site... I made my own and I can truly see this is going to be a fun ride...

Hmm as for creating the website, what would you advice me to use - Wordpress or maybe the Hostgator website creator? Already got myself the MGT4 graphics pack too

I personally use hostgator and rotate between wordpress and my own code depending on what I'm doing. OptimizePress is nice but not necessary if you are able to edit themes. Nice progress by the way!

    Hey all,
Been kinda stuck with the website over the last couple of days. Can't really manage to build it, not sure if it's because I am lazy or it's pretty hard to do. Also, I reached my Ebay limit so my profit today is $0
What should I do now? Even if I finish the site, how am I supposed to market it? I can pretty much forget about SEO hehe...
    Thanks in advance!
