How do I create a Landing Page with Optin Email?

I have no experience creating a landing page with an Optin Email. Any suggestions of a site or software for building a landing page and Optin Email.

How do I create an exit popup window leading to another offer page if the prospect leave my landing page?

Are there any free tracking sites to track my campaign?

I appreciate anyone's help.

You first need to create a Landing page and then implement one Auto Responder's (ex: Aweber) Opt-in form to your site.

Then you are ready to promote it. Its nice and easy.

You need an autoresponder first. If you choose GetResponse they allow you to create squeeze pages right from their site. Personally I use Optimize Press and Kajabi for everything. They both cost money though.

Take LexiB's advice and invest in OptimizePress, you won't regret it and you'll be making opt in and sales pages in minutes.

You can always use Mailchimp as your opt in / autoresponder as it's free to get started (up to 12,000 emails a month until you have to subscribe last time I looked).

As long as you're not doing or planning to do any affiliate marketing or any of the other (very large number of) IM activities which are prohibited by the terms of service they enforce so strictly.

Countless Warriors have lost their accounts (and sometimes lists!) at Mailchimp through not knowing/understanding the bizarre terms of service, policies and procedures

Don't think of using Mailchimp without first reading these posts/threads carefully ...

Mailchimp not to be used for internet marketing?

Good call Alexa, although for newbies wanting a sandbox to get an understanding of how autoresponders work, it's a good playground, if you get any sort of traction you'll definitely want to switch to something more IM friendly though for sure.

...unlike the optimizepress that you are suggesting.

For a simple optin page nobody needs WordPress or any other complicated CMS. Only clueless people parrot this idiocy

I'm not sure why you are saying this...?

Worpress is installed in a couple of clicks inside your cpanel these days and optimizepress is just the same once wordpress is installed... This is a lot easier than learning HTML and FTP to get your first opt in form online...

All of the sites I have made that have made me money have all been built on wordpress and optimizepress... Until something better comes out I will stick with it.

I learned HTML years ago and have a fairly good understanding of it but why should I overcomplicate things when there are easier solutions out there (optimizepress/wordpress).

The simple fact is that for a newbie getting started with list building optimizepress is probably the easiest method out there although it costs a little bit of money up front the time saved in not having to learn any HTML or FTP is well worth the investment.

I would love to hear your thoughts why you think Optimizepress and Wordpress is not the route to go for newbies Istvan when it is so easy to get setup and ready to drive traffic to. It even comes with exit popups at the click of a button which is another thing the OP wanted to include!

I'm inclined to agree with Simon. I recently set up a funnel using html. I tried getting the template to work with instabuilder but couldn't due to some php stuff built into it.

Lemme tell you, its a real pain editing and customizing html to make it look pleasing for conversion's sake. But I gotter done.

Certainly you can build a simple squeeze page using notepad. But will it be easy to make it look good? Not likely.

                time saved
Agree simon, OptimizePress is $97 spent once to save time on an ongoing basis, I know which one I'd rather be doing, manually coding a squeeze page, or whizzing it out in OptimizePress and having the free time to spend doing other things...

You can spend money over and over again, but you can only spend time once, so make it count...

                Horses for courses though...

I don't know about that. I can have a fresh install of wordpress and a bad*ass squeeze page put together in about hour on a new domain, maybe less...

  • Thanks 'ochaim' While I do agree with you I still think it is worthwhile having at least a basic understanding of HTML and to some extent CSS so when things do go wrong with your site you can get into it and fix it without having to pay an expensive coder (like me) to get it all working again!

I recently helped someone out with their product launch and it was a site completely built in HTML. He had the design done by someone else but then he paid me a very large sum to get everything working for him including the funnel and split tests and in the end it cost him a fortune! Although he made that money back with the launch it would still have been a lot better for him if he had a very basic knowledge of HTML so he could have done the work himself. Or if he had built it in wordpress!

easy.....get optimize press, buy a domian, setup wordpress, install optimize press, use a landing page template, open an aweber account, set up a webform (optin), post it on your landing page, use the visual editor for optimize press if you dont know html.

then publish -> --> optimize --> publish ---> mass advertise

Sometimes I've used html/css for squeeze pages, my latest one I use optimize press.

It's for clueless and clueful people alike.

I suppose there a couple of ways of doing it depending on your skill levels. Because I'm from a developing background, I could code an html page in a matter of minutes. This requires no database, and very basic html skills. Throw in a bit of CSS and Photoshop and you can have a nice lander knocked up in no time. This is easily modified to create further pages with nothing more than an FTP and Notepad. Maybe a Fiverr gig or two to create some graphics if you don't know Photoshop. But its relatively easy.

If you go the Wordpress / Optimize Press route, there is a learning curve needed for newbies to get their head around Wordpress, Databases, Plugins, Themes etc. I feel for simple landers that its just not needed, over engineered even, but I can see the attraction if you have experience of WP and like pressing buttons to see results.

I believe I could teach someone to code a basic html page quicker than teaching them Wordpress, then Optimize Press, then customizing it all. And you still need some basic coding knowledge to mess around with it if you want to make changes to the CSS, HTML outside of the Optimize Press install. So there is more involved going this route imo.

If you were to spend time as a newbie who's interested in owning their own websites, I would advise getting to grips with the basics of html and css, this will give you a grounding of how the web is put together. If you learn WP to start with, you will struggle to make changes because you haven't a clue what the code is that put your site together. Then your on here asking about html, and how do I change this and that. The Web Design forum on here is littered with requests by people asking about html, when a simple Google search would bring up plenty of resources to get you started.

    Horses for courses tho..
