Is it ok to give my IP address, the company name that im hosting with, my DNS and Name Server info?

I'm looking to get a url from someone who said they will be giving me all the rights to the website url so that I can manage it on my current server. They have asked for the info below:

IP Address
Company i'm hosting with
DNS
Name Server info.

Is this okay to give out?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Well he has this url that he linked to my site. But he agreed to give me the url. So he asked me for this info and when I asked what he will be doing with it, he replied: "This info allows me to give you all the rights to the website. I will be able to remove the current forward and you will be able to manage the website on your current server."

Unfortunately, I still don't understand why they need this info. I mean, it's not that hard to find out what the info is...but it's not very clear why they "really" need it..

Hmm. Well I host with Bluehost and he hosts with Godaddy. I didn't know if this made a difference.

First are you talking about a domain or a URL on a domain?

If you are talking about a domain, all he needs to do is login to his registrar and change the DNS servers to yours. You then setup the domain on your server.

You would then have editing control over the domain but he would still own it and could always just change the DNS again to take control back from you.
