Would This Be A Good Idea For A Press Release?

Hey Guys,

I'm planning on launching my press release sometime this week and I was going to use the main title as: "17 Year Old Makes $450,000 Per Year"

Would this be a newsworthy story?

Then I was planning on sending people to my squeeze page to get them on my email list.

Good or bad?

Of course I would make the story newsworthy and not filled with self promotion........but I would include a link at the bottom of the press release to my squeeze page.

        Obviously I'm a bit confused about press releases. What if I were to write a press release about how to make money online and then send people to my squeeze page at the bottom of the article?

    Provide them good contents, something they can gain and learn from.. And trust me they will want more after that.
    If you gonna have a title like this: "17 Year Old Makes $450,000 Per Year" then you better back it up with some proof or contents has to match up how to make 450,000 per year.

      So you're saying that it would be okay to go ahead and write about something like this, as long as I'm providing "proof" as to what I'm saying?

    You can literally say anything. It's up for the audience to believe if your speaking the truth or not. You can literally say anything and some will believe if you or not, thats just how the internet works. But saying that 17 years makes $450,000, most people aren't gonna buy that, most of people are already skeptical on making money on the internet.

    An Average household in the US makes less than $100,000 a year. how are people gonna think that a 17 is pulling $450,000???

    If so, tell them how that kid accomplished and you'll get a decent press.

    What i am trying to say is that, provide good contents that you can back up.. don't just write bunch of lies for your own gains.

    Press Release is for more formal announcement such as new services provision, key promotion, etc. For your case, it seem to be a marketing promotion gig. You will probably won't get the media attention.

    Try to have your title more formal. It look too scammy for press release.
    Your title is more suitable for social media such as twitter, facebook.

    It might be good if it was true.

    If it's fake you're just asking for trouble.

    Also how do you plan on submitting the press release...just online
    or do you want real media coverage?

    There's nearly always a way to make a TRUE story or person seem
    sexy to the media.

    You just have to think a little about what would make an attractive
    story the media can't resist.


    If it's an online press release you're looking for an attractive story
    that compels readers to go to your site and take some kind of
    action.

    If it's true and you can provide evidence, you need only change the approach to the text.

    Example: XYZ Blog Publishes Article About 17 Year Old Makes $450,000 Per Year Online

    On March 3, 2013 XYZ blog published an article about a Billy Smith, a 17 year old teenager who has earned $450,000 during the past 12 months publishing websites.

    Continue writing it as if you're a journalist who discovered this article providing more info about the article.

    You will want to link to the article. Somewhere on the article page that's linked to from the press release you can have your optin box ... but the article must include information supporting the claim and have the same info that the press release is about.

    Your press release is simply an announcement about an event. In this case, the event is the publishing of your article.

    Again, only do this if it's all true. If you're trying to pull the wool over readers' eyes, it's not good.
