Best Wordpress Template for Broad Amazon Affiliate Site?

Hi Warriors,

I just wanted to quickly ask if anyone can recommend a really clean looking Wordpress template for a broad topic Amazon affiliate website? At the moment I'm using the Pro Review theme which I think is better for small niches or single products with it's "Top 10" sort of style.

Thanks,
Antony.

Templates are always a personal choice... I would always build the site in a simple template and if it starts getting good traffic I would then start testing different templates until I get the best conversions....

    I use studiopress themes....

Great advice. Just get something simple and get traffic. Test from there. I like StudioPress as well. Because it uses child themes, changing child themes (design) is a piece of cake and with dozens of designs to choose from, you can test many designs.

FYI, I don't really focus on Amazon, but I think Danny Cutts' advice applies regardless whether you focus on Amazon or other affiliate products.

I think Danny is spot on.

I've bought 'Amazon Wordpress Templates' and they've done shockingly bad. I've used a badly modified 2010 Theme and just sat back and watch sales come in for crap like Sewing Machines.

It has to be easy to use, easy to navigate and not make people hit that back button instantly.

I actually REALLY like the default Wordpress theme. A few small tweaks here and there and it has started to convert better than some of the fancier themes I've tried.

    Hey Anthony,

Personal choice of course, but for pretty much any Amazon website I use Thesis - super easy to customize, awesome for SEO and good for CTR - at least that is what I have found.

I like the themes from theme-junkie.com These themes, in my opinion, are great for authority sites because of the category with subcategory dropdown which makes site navigation really easy. I got a modified version with a plugin from a warrior here, wolfmiii review sites made easy. The site is working well and I have made a few sales with only about 10 products on the site right now. The site is Home Chef Reviews |

Although I use a modified verstion of the freshlife theme with a review plugin I would still be able to make a really nice amazon site with this and a few of their other themes

Thanks for the compliment. The review lengths are based on the plugin I have and instructions from the developer. I am in the process of making some changes to how I do the reviews though. I have found a work-around for the plugin

            Al...

Site is looking good! I would definitely add some content though. When you completely fill in all of the Review Sites Made Easy fields as recommended, your finished reviews should be a bit "fuller" than what they are now.

Glad to see you are earning commissions with the site I built for you!

Good good, as long as the content is unique and of good quality and answers the questions of the searcher you will do very well :-)

Thanks for the responses guys! I might try that out and build the site first with content before testing the effectiveness of different themes - not sure if I can be that patient though.

I like to go with a clean looking genesis theme, but it always depends on your niche what converts best.

Just wonder where do you usually get info for reviews?
What plugins are recommended for reviews?

We are not talking about HTML, CSS, DHTML or anything about web design.

We are taking about suitable WordPress templates for Amazon sites.

If we were talking about designing a WP Template for Amazon sites then we would be in the Design Forum.

But since we are talking about which template to BUY to MARKET our Amazon sites, we are (correctly) in the Marketing Forum.

But I won't report you because you are obviously just grumpy.

Templates are personal choice- I agree with this too. You need to keep in mind that a person came to ask for help or to read a review in your site,
    1. Don't make it hard for them. Use a simple design. With a letter size that can be read by most people.
    2. Color should be light and less use of graphical banner.
    3. Theme should be load faster so use simple themes.

These are the basic things when I try to select a theme.
