Hey guys
Im having some problems doing my keyword research because Im not too sure how to go about doing it.
Ive used the search button and from what I can derive, most people are using the wordtracker / google adwords keyword tool
Ive tried searching for phrases (using both tools) but I cant seem to find any good long tailed keywords.
So, how do you advise I go about doing the keyword research?
Anything will be appreciated please.
Thanks

1). Start with a list of general (not longtail) keywords. These can be one word or two-word phrases.

2). Search using the Adwords tool you mentioned.

3). Eliminate all single words and two-word phrases from the ensuing list.

4). Look through the remaining longer phrases, and save the ones that get a decent number of searches + have lower competition ratings.

That's the quick way. If you did that (or do that now) and don't find anything, you need to find alternate starting words and repeat this process. Your niche probably has a lot of related words that will work fine. Don't get caught up in thinking you have to start with a certain set of core keywords. For example, if the niche is dog training, use that + puppy training + housetraining + how to train a pet + housebreaking a puppy + etc. etc.
