A squeeze page or a pop up software?

Hello,

My name is kingsley. I have been doing affiliate for a while now and have just starting making some money in the last 3 months.

I have decided to increase the pace of my business and having studied several guides from different gurus, i am a bit confused on how to proceed.

Should i start off by building a squeeze page and building list through or should i build a blog and use a pop up software to collect email lists.?

Which works better and faster?

Let me add that i used the pure blogging model to make the sales without building list.

The niche is within the dating and relationship niche

So how should i proceed?

Build a squeeze page and drive traffic to it or Build a normal blog, and add an autoresponder form?

I want something that will help me build a list as fast as possible.

Please i will appreciate your kind response and suggestions.

Thanks so much in advance

Kingsley

In my opinion, a well designed squeeze page will get you signups much faster than a regular blog even with an opt-in form or pop-up will. When you have them on your list, you can then use your autoresponder series to bring them to your blog for various offers.

If you want to build your list faster, then create a squeeze page.

Typically marketers use blogs as a traffic source, so after you create the squeeze page, you can create a pop up, or place banners on your blog and direct traffic to your squeeze.

Marketers use blogs also to deliver value to their subscribers!

IMPORTANT! Don't think building a list of 1k subscribers can be done fast (using free traffic sources)

You will need to spend time and effort to build a profitable list, because simply building a list equals building a business from nothing to financial freedom!

Hi Kingsley, the short answer is to test for yourself.

Which works better and faster for various other people doesn't matter. What matters is what works better (not necessarily "faster": "faster" is often a bad thing, in list-building) for you.

For myself, after the testing I've done, I don't use either of those methods to build my lists. I do worse with squeeze pages than without them (with squeeze pages, I build bigger lists, more quickly, but they're less responsive and produce less income for me), and I don't use pop-ups at all.

In list-building, that's a poor approach. Best to change what you want, really: you ought to want to build a highly-targeted, high-quality, responsive list. Squeeze pages and pop-ups may well both be less than optimal for that.

A squeeze page sent to targeted group of people is faster and effective. This is only my opinion.

A squeeze page is definitely better choice for list building.
The purpose of the squeeze is very targeted, strictly for list building.

Pop-up page for blog is good but won't be converting that well.
Newsletter/ free report optin is more appropriate.

      This isn't necessarily so.

A squeeze page is sometimes a better choice for list-building.

Sometimes it's a worse choice, as explained in some of the threads linked to above, which comment on actual testing results.

It's better to split-test for yourself (or, if not doing that, at least be aware that other people have split-tested it and sometimes found that building lists without squeeze pages was better) than just to repeat what you see other people saying in forums. That's exactly how all this misinformation is perpetuated.

You have no idea how well it will convert for the OP. Neither do I. Neither does he. (It will depend on many different factors, none of which has even been mentioned yet).
