Is there a way (or tool) to find the hot products in any niche?

Guys,
I am looking to find what are the most popular products on major niches.
For example, I would like to find out what are the top 10-15 products in the baby gift niche, digital camera nitche and so on...

Any idea???

Hi Jenny, it's going to depend on where and how they're being sold, I think. But it perhaps depends a little on exactly what you mean by "top". In many places, sales figures are (rightly) not available, so if you mean "top-selling" it may be very difficult to learn this. It may not even be possible at all.

I sometimes wonder, when people ask questions like this (and I'm not trying to be "funny", here) whether they're asking because they actually plan to promote themselves something that's already a bestseller (which I think is what many people plan to do, though I wouldn't normally dream of it, myself), or because they want to make sure they avoid promoting those items (which would be more like "where I'm coming from", myself). I think, on balance, the most popular products are - actually for quite a variety of reasons - probably among the least suitable for many affiliate marketers to promote.

I suspect that this is - in some senses - the equivalent, on a product-by-product basis, of the reasoning that some people apply on a niche-by-niche basis, asking which are the hottest/highest-volume/biggest-money niches. (The one thing which always seems likely to me is that those are going to be among the most difficult and perhaps least appropriate niches for any specific individual to try).

      Thanks for that,
      I meant top selling worldwide
I guess that the info/indication should come from sites that sell worldwide....
Btw, I am Sam, Jenny is my wife

One of many ways to check is do a search on the most popular keywords and look at the ads that show up.

Sounds interesting but how can it work?
I mean, lets take the baby gifts niche for example, I search google for this term and see many ads...what next?
The ads I see does not tell me what hot products are in the baby gifts niche...
      Did I miss something?

If you see an ad for a turbo charged baby stroller at the top of the pile that's valuable info. Next is to determine how much that ad cost the merchant. You can get that info through Google keyword tool. Popular keywords and the ads they bring up are often for the hottest stuff in that market.

People don't continue to place ads unless they're working. When you're consistently seeing the same stuff coming up over the various ad networks, that's the stuff that's selling. It's certainly not going to be 100% definitive but that's almost always where I start with product research. I should say where I used to start...
