Got a good domain, Help?

I purchased "Allnew.me"

I'm wondering if this domain would do well in the godaddy.com auction house?

OR

If i should take advantage of the domain and use it for IM?

I think the allnew.me domain could be interpreted as "All New Me"

I was thinking maybe selling self-improvement e-books?

anyone else have ideas?

edit: I'm taking my first steps into IM so excuse me if my question seems elementary

Doubt it's worth much mate, older domains seem to sell much easier and the smaller they are too. If you have ideas for the domain then go and take action mate

I'd develop into the self improvement niche, like you mentioned. You're not too likely to get much for it undeveloped. .me didn't take off real big except for some obvious vanity domains.

    Not undeveloped, I think.

It certainly sounds brandable for that. Books/courses/other things? Not a bad one at all - this seems a good idea.

I would avoid .me extension in general, concentrate on .com (and maybe .net or .org) domains. Some say that it's not possible to find and hand register valuable domains any more, but I think there are still thousands or even tens of thousands of names out there, waiting for someone lucky to find them

I generally don't like domain extension that aren't .com for brandable sites...but it really just depends on how well you develop the site...

Respectfully, I think you guys may slightly be missing the point that with some word-constructions/expressions, the word "me", and therefore the fact that it's a .me extension, is part of what makes it brandable.

Totally agree! The name is great and if you'll brand the site, it might be a success! It isn't true that only .com, .net and .org domains are worth top dollar! It depends how are they going to be developed. Good example - del.icio.us (which actually redirects you to delicious.com :p)

        Good luck with it bro!

If you develop it then I would say that it definitely has potential.

TO tell you honestly, people nowadays are allergic to domains ending ".me" and any other else except ".com". But there's always an exception to that, good promotions can boost you out of the generalization people assume nowadays.

I've started creating a media hub oriented website with the domain.

    AllNew.Me

I'm thinking in order to monetize it, I could add my own personally written or maybe some MLR e-books for purchase.

This is my 2nd website project I've ever done, The first was trying to make money with Adsense.. which was not really successful.

    Would love feedback.

    Thanks.

I would agree that you should monetize your site with your own work or even find suitable affiliate programs in the self help category in the short term, rather than waiting until you complete your own book, I also don't touch adsense these days, it is not what it used to be and sometimes can make your site also look spammy...good luck with your site

That's a very brandable domain if you are ready to put some real work into it. Build a good site - not just some slim affiliate bandaid - and backlink / socially promote the hell out of it. Build great traffic, make money with it for a while - then you might consider putting it up on Flippa once the domain has some age on it, there's great traffic stats, and you have some income figures to show for it.

You can flip domains / websites with less work in the site but as it's a .me and one that needs to be proven to be a good brand possibility, you'd have to put more into this one to flip it for a good return.

    EDIT -

Just checked out the site. Are you using some autocontent plugin to pull those videos?

Have you considered adding any ORIGINAL content in there? The world has enough "hub" sites. If you want to be a hub - make it look like you put some effort into it, and have actually gone through the materials you are linking - and let people know WHY they should give a crap about it.

It's very impersonal and to be honest, with a brand like All New Me, you'd expect to have a large number of women drawn to that name - but the colors / blockiness / all male cast excludes the female traffic completely. There's nothing that says "Stay, engage with me" and certainly nothing that would drive someone to spend money with you.

It's a start, but to me it's a placeholder while you put some actual effort into building into something useful and brandable, therefor profitable.

Really appreciate the time you took to break things down for me like that.

Yea, the site is just a seed and no where near "official launch".

I have a lot of work to do, like you said, Explain why people should check out those videos and describe them more in detail.

To be honest.. I sort of had a "Geared toward men" site idea from the begining.

Since basically, I'm going to be sharing a lot of videos and articles that have helped me in my personal life.

In hindsight though, I think it'd be a good idea to make an appeal for women also, since like you said. "All New Me" will likely attract a female audience too.

      Thank you.
