Website Traffic Went Down

I have a question about a website i have. Overnight my traffic to my site went down from 200 uniquest a day to 25. Does anyone know what the typical answer is? It is a word press site.

    depends on where you were getting your traffic from. is it organic traffic or are you using other methods?

      My Google ranking dropped. I went from many first page listing to going to the 5-6 page.

    Google slap is my guess. It is a good idea to track where your traffic is coming from and try to get multiple sources. Sadly, very little of my traffic comes from Yahoo or Bing, so any change in the GA - Google Algorithm and we feel it. Right now they are doing another update so I hope it works out for you. Be careful where your links come from as that can crush you. Bad neighborhood is what we call it.

    i heard there was an update on feb 21 and the effects are starting to take hold. I would guess a few peeps are gonna have to make some changes to fix the damage.

    It does seem to me that your site got slapped by Google and it lost some or all of its rankings. If this is the case then there are things you should do about it.

    1. Start to post videos on YouTube for more traffic.

    2. Learn paid ads and start applying it to your business.

    You need to have multiple sources of traffic because if one dies down, then others will get you traffic each and every day.

    Depending on the Analytics tool you were using, most of the 200 visitors might include bots and spiders/crawlers.
    Many Wordpress sites used to be hacked silently, causing unexpected turnarounds, I hope it's not the case.
