Be careful what you post here...

A recent post (that has since been deleted) accused a well known Internet marketer of lying. When the mods got wind of the post, the thread was swiftly removed.

Good thing.

Good thing for the Internet marketer. Good thing for the forum. And good thing for the person who posted the accusation in the first place.

Making accusations of this nature is not only unpleasant but it's also a pretty sure way to get yourself sued for defamation. I say this as someone with a legal background.

Don't do it.

If you're unclear about something, don't agree with something, or are frankly unhappy about something, there are ways to express yourself without making unwarranted and unsubstantiated claims about people. Think before you post

You make a very good point Anna. Too many people feel they can post any accusation without recourse on the forum and sooner or later someone is going to find out the hard way that the laws of libel apply every bit as much to the internet as anywhere else.

I've only read Mike's rebuttal but from the quotes he's included the OP appears to have made such pretty dumb observations based on little more than his/her mis-intepretation of Mike's video.

      PS.
All the bantering, bickering and arguments reminded me of a song by King Crimson called "Elephant talk".

At the risk of having this post deleted... here are the lyrics. Song was written in the 80s, but this is very much what most forums (this one notwithstanding) look like nowadays.

      Brad

      Elephant Talk

      Talk, it's only talk
      Arguments, agreements, advice, answers,
      Articulate announcements
      It's only talk

      Talk, it's only talk
Babble, burble, banter, bicker bicker bicker
      Brouhaha, boulderdash, ballyhoo
      It's only talk
      Back talk

Talk talk talk, it's only talk
      Comments, cliches, commentary, controversy
      Chatter, chit-chat, chit-chat, chit-chat,
      Conversation, contradiction, criticism
      It's only talk
      Cheap talk

      Talk, talk, it's only talk
      Debates, discussions
These are words with a D this time
      Dialogue, dualogue, diatribe,
      Dissention, declamation
      Double talk, double talk

      Talk, talk, it's all talk
      Too much talk
      Small talk
      Talk that trash
      Expressions, editorials, expugnations, exclamations, enfadulations
      It's all talk
Elephant talk, elephant talk, elephant talk

    Fully agree.

But it's not just in the forum... People take the internet and the "cloak of darkness" it provides to hide who you are, as a place they can defame, spit, banter, bicker and generally lose all inhibitions. But legally - libel is libel, and you can get hit.

I heard on the news yesterday about a few Domino's Pizza employees who posted a vid on YouTube showing what the did with the food before serving it (Won't go into details - but wasn't anything I'd care to eat!). They thought it was funny. They don't think so now that the place was closed for a while and they're being sued.

On the internet and elsewhere in life - do onto others as you would wish them do onto you
