I was 15, when I stared my IM journey.

I'm 17 and have not done much homework lately. Due to the time spent on warrior forum, advertising and selling facebook accounts. I need an advice from an elderly person that went thru the same experience as me, because I'm ready to drop out, but at the same time I want to get my high school diploma like all the normal people. If I focus more on school. I'm going to have to sacrifice IM and I don't want to do that, because I've just established a business that makes me a decent amount of money. So what do you suggest me to do? I can either keep my focus on IM or switch to schoolwork but also do IM part-time. (BTW, I take home school courses and I'm super behind, so it will take me like 16 hours per day of homework)

No, you're to close to reaching graduation. I'm 18 and will be graduating online home schooling in a few months too. Down the road you might need the Diploma. You should go to college as a back up plan too.

My plan as of right now is to take a year off of school after I graduate and then I will begin college classes in the fall of 2014.

As a teen, you may think your $30,000 income a year made internet marketing is a lot (If you're even making that much). Really, it isn't. You have to take taxes out still, and that's a good ole' chunk of that.

To rent an apartment, all the utilities, and purchase all your other daily needs will cost $1,400 a month minimum. Think for the future, not right now. It won't be an easy task living off on your own.

School is not a bad place to learn adult stuff, you will be graduated as soon as you finish that load of homework, get more friends, socialize with people, be a part of society.
But if you focus on IM all the time, I doubt you will get to experience normal things, I am not sure you will become a good internet marketer if you don't know how normal people experience their life.

You seem to be well ahead of the game at the age of 17! Nice! If you want to go to school it is your choice or if you want to drop out it is also your choice! You are close to finishing school, and I would go ahead and finish school. That is just what I would do. So how is your IM journey going??

Well, is your income so much that you can live on it, not living with your parents anymore?

Do you have enough for food, to pay taxes yearly, transport, water, electric etc?

If you have a substantial income already and enough to pay all of those, I MEAN A REGULAR INCOME, then it's up to you. Formal education doesn't always = steady income.

I would stick at school, just to be on the safe side...when you get that Diploma you will feel really great. And you will find out that you can do anything, as long as you put your mind to it!

17 years, oh oh, that is my job experience!!!

I believe, you got already trick behind the IM and you become successful too. I suggest you go back to school and complete it. Because you can resume your IM business any time in your life. But schooling it has always some age limits. Of course you can also go to school anytime, but if you do the schooling at the right time then you will never regret in your life.

I hope I did not slap you the lecture.

    Best of luck

I've never met a wealthy person who regretted getting an education. I've met some wealthy people who regretted not getting an education, and I'm not talking about high school. I'm talking about college and graduate school. Having said that, it isn't necessary for entrepreneurs. Bill Gates dropped out of Harvard, Mark Zuckerberg dropped out of Harvard, Steve Jobs dropped out of college.

Then again, Sumner Redstone is a lawyer and is the head of Viacom, that means he has a graduate degree. Sergei Brin and Larry Page the guys behind Google were working on their Ph.D's when they started the search engine. I think I read somewhere Sergei was actually trying to finish his doctoral thesis at Stanford just because he could.

Educate yourself... Simple as that, your business could fall apart tomorrow but a degree is there for life. Think it through and look at the big picture. Anyone who tells you otherwise isn't being realistic, look at some of the biggest businessman in the world who go re-educate at 40. These people are worth 100s millions... Just educate yourself.

Dont quote the guy who made a bundle of money... Quote the thousands who didn't... Quote the thousands of business owners who have gone out of business in the last year and are now working in KFC, ASDA etc... It's easy to quote wealthy people but in reality, that isn't the norm.

Should I quote the many people, who worked hard in school and paid a lot of money for their degrees; that have been left jobless because their company decided that they weren't needed anymore?

Should I not quote those who have kept theirs?

Of course the reality of it comes down to wealthy people being in the top x%. That's how the world works... but I'm not JUST talking about people making a boatload of money - there are MANY people making enough to live off through their own businesses.

But having a defeatist and negative attitude won't help anyone to overcome struggle and reach (financial) goals.

It's not about having a defeatist attitude but there are so many life lessons to be learnt in education which are invaluable. Dropping out of school because the homework is to hard, when he has 1 year left is insane... He spent x years commited to it and should see it through to the end.

Of course there are people making enough to live on through their own business, I am not disputing that, I am not disputing that people lost their jobs when heavily educated. What I am saying is that education is full of invaluable lessons and does give you something to fall back on if your online business doesn't work. Dropping out at this late stage is not right in my eyes.

Why not still attending school and doing this online venture part time. Yeah it does take out more of your time and it is not easy to have the discipline to manage both, but you will be able to get more things done.

When I was approaching my last year of high school, my focus was completely on a different career which looked really promising to me. It still does, but I have been struggling for money, intermittently, ever since. I'm 22, now. I can't say that this will happen to you. I can only tell you what I have experienced. And, yes - I have regretted not completing my education in the standard way. I've since started learning on long-distance courses (Open University).

Okay so you are doing good right now and think that an education is not that important. But what happens one day when you no longer like doing this or something goes wrong and you can not do it? Then you will be without a job on the internet and also be without a diploma. Finish school, you are really close to doing so, so why mess that up?

Too many people take education for granted.

Why not do both? You might be overloaded with homework and assignments but you can AWAYS make time.

My girlfriend is currently finishing her degree and recently quit her part time job because she was always moaning she never had time! Which in my mind was stupid, because she still has time to go out for cocktails on the weekend and go shoe shopping!

Life's about sacrifices, you would be hard pressed to find a successful entrepreneur who didnt have much of a social life or worked in 2-3 jobs to invest in their own business!

I suggest sticking to getting at least some education. Stay in school so you have some qualifications to fall back on.

You never know when your internet marketing career may go bust of you are in desperate need of some cash somewhere else. There is no harm in it.

I never went to college or got a degree but I did finish my basic school and am glad I did.

    Hope this advice helps

I think the OP got banned for saying that he was selling Facebook accounts. Bear in mind we are not supposed to be discussing certain types of marketing strategies on this forum, and selling Facebook accounts definitely falls into that category. If that is his business plan for making a living, better to stay in school.

Or maybe from there, graduate to selling penis enlargement pills, **** berries, etc. etc.

I would finish your high school education. As others have mentioned having a degree showing you understand basic education is important.

You could one day wake up and have your IM career shut down either forever or months for untold reasons. In the meantime you will probably want a "job" and having a diploma helps.

That said - just manage your time efficiently by creating a to do list every day and you might see you can accomplish more then you ever thought possible.

My last year of school (as far as education) was a complete waste of time. That said it still gave me time to think about my IM stuff afterwards. I went on and got an IM degree, which even that is debatably useless. Although I have been offered a few 60k jobs just because of my IM degree. Point is, even if you think education is useless, it can always open opportunities for you. It may give you extra time to think about your future or it may bring more ideas to light about what you can do with IM. Either way schooling is not going to take your life away. It can only give more to you.

I assume you're still checking this thread (even though banned), so I hope that helped.

I think you're in a tough situation. It is just a matter of choice.
If you know that you can live without finishing your high school then go for it but if you think that you really need to finish your high school then sacrifice some of your time in having online perhaps you can hire some VA to assist your online works.

Its good to hear about your success... i didnt even knew about IM stuff at your age.

If we talk about Education Vs Entrepreneurship... We need knowledge, but not necessarily from a socialist school education system.

But, You’ll always find the conflicting answers everywhere including here. Some will tell you it’s necessary in order to gain the skills you need to succeed. Some will tell you it’s necessary to build character. And some will tell you not to waste your time.

You should put your school stuff as a priority, as the basics will benefit you when you least expect it, in your internet marketing business.

Prioritise stuff, and quit doing things that don't get results. Concentrate on your successes to maximise your return on investment in time...
