How to save my videos??

Ive spent weeks recording my training course for my member area.

3-4 hours of video explanations.

Spent weeks editing them.

Now i found that everything is so screwed im so confused.

Im not naming the software i use here as its not a rant nor is it a review.

I want to find a solution.

So my problems with it are the following.

1. After recording, timeline of audio and video are in sync, after viewing using the play and pause button, the audio and video de-sync.
Suddenly one timeline becomes longer than the other.

2. when i edit or delete a range of audio/video that i dont want.
Part of it is still there when i play back. So i deleted the range and it was 5 seconds worth in my timeline.
But when i press play HALF of the deleted range is still in there. So i dont know what 5 seconds was actually deleted.

All in all while viewing my project in edit mode, i have no idea whether what im viewing is what the actual data is.
1 hint is that the audio has this thing that shows whether there is sound right, if there is no sound it will go ----------. But in those times there were audio, and those time where it shows volume but there was not suppose to have audio and it was a pause.

So it becomes impossible to edit!
And now im at a lost.

I am thinking the only options i have are
1. Try to save as much of my original video and outsource it to some professional.

2. Start all over again in the recording!

Damn, im loosing my hair becos of this!!

You might be better dropping an email to the software company and using their support.
    Alternatively some will have forums.

well you know.... different softwares different solutions... so if you don't want to name it the best thing you can do is to just contact the support of the software company as Troy23 suggested...

    Take care

      Already contacted them.
By the way i started a thread there for the purpose of reviewing.
      http://www.warriorforum.com/internet...-software.html

But this thread is for solutions, just in case someone pounce on me for having double threads.

They said they do know there are such problems and they are working on it.
[the problem when you pause the video and play again, it screws the timeline]
And they say that my computer may be slow also, adding to the problem.

As for the problem of not being in sync, they say they dont seem to have that problem when testing.

I sent them a sample of one of my videos and they edited it for me.
What they told me is to publish the video 1st then see where are the places that are not in sync, record it down then go back to the editorial version and edit the timeline.

But by doing this, its crazy.
When i publish my video it takes 15mins to an hour for it to be exported, there after every time i edit the time line for the whole video will change. So each time i make a change, i have to publish it again which will take 15-60mins just to see how it is for the rest of the video, so i can edit the other parts.
      This process is crazy. !

So i tot maybe some techy genius guy or anyone here who might have some idea, cos i know nuts when it comes to this kind of things.
      I jsut hate it.
Yet its very hard to outsource this part, cos only i will know where i want cut and what i want to add in etc.

      Here's a suggestion for you:

Download the 30 day free trial of Camtasia.

Import your recording to Camtasia and drag it to the timeline. (If you don't have an .mp4 or .avi file from Active Presenter, you'll have to export one.)

Separate the audio and video by unlocking the Audio track from the Video track.

Lock one track while you're editing the other. Unlock both tracks when you want to cut the same section from both tracks.

You can cut pauses from the audio or add periods of silence. You can cut the audio into sections and move them around to synchronize with the video. You can lengthen the video by choosing a frame you want to stay on screen and extending it.

After each change, you can view the video in the viewer without exporting it.

** If the change didn't work as expected, click the Undo button and try again. **

A slow computer will probably make things a bit harder, but you should still be able to get the job done.

        Hi Gail

That is a very good idea, i did tot of using my recorded files and paste it on another video editing software. Just dont know which one.

I did download the camtasia already, and i cant open it after installing, it says some fatal error or something.

That is why i ended up using this.
And my 30 day trial is over. lol
You think i can get another 30 days and try again?

If you ran into a Fatal Error trying to install or open Camtasia, your 30 day trial probably never started.

Sounds like you have some compatibility issues with your operating system.

I agree with the others, I've been using Camtasia for years and I highly recommend it.
