vWriter.com - Get Unique, Custom-Written Content At Great Prices are looking for writers. They're a UK based company so i'm not sure if they only want UK based writers or not.

They say their rates are:

Standard £0.021
Professional £0.0504

So for a 500 word article that would be £10.50 or £25.20. You must have a degree though.

I don't work for them or anything like that, just came across them while I was searching for something completely different!

Thanks for the mention ... it's early days and the site is evolving rapidly, with a lot in the pipeline for the development of the service going forward, so check vWriter.com for the latest info on writer requirements, rates and so on.

We are based in the UK, but serve a global clientele and have writers from all over the world - UK writers will serve UK-based clients, US writers will serve US-based and global clients, and rest-of-world writers will generally serve rest-of-world clients, but we'll be introducing a feature allowing clients to specify writer origin. For example, someone in the UK might be marketing to a US-based/global audience and want US-written content.

We currently require degrees, but will be adapting our requirements to include other credentials (and not thereby exclude talented and experienced writers who may not have a degree, but who would do a great job for clients).

One thing we do assess carefully is ability to write, and unlike most other services we don't generally accept writers who don't have English as a first language - even if they write well, there can be odd turns of phrase that mean the content won't meet with our quality requirements.

Requiring a degree seems a rather odd business model considering the diversity of the article market.

oh wait.. it's a UK site

I'm excited. Now I have a reason to go back to college. So I can wait tables and write articles after putting myself $80k~ in the hole. Eureka! They do seem to pay well, so that's a perk.

I definitely don't understand that UK video.

They have banned few countries like India, pakistna, and bangaldesh. So that's a great filter as well

The reason: Tons of complaints by buyers.
